Ephesians 2:10 New Living Translation (NLT)
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Today marks a day we call, "Mother's Day". Many thoughts go through the head of one person on this day. Some are happy, some are sad, some are broken and recall their mother who was active in their lives or missing in their lives. Who is this woman who gave birth to me and what was her real purpose in my life?
My mom had a difficult life on earth. Her mother died when she was 5 years old and she lived with brothers and sisters in their homes off and on. She never had a room to call her own and now she rest in Heaven. She went there at 83 years old and I look back to see the struggles in her life. There was also much joy in her live too, but the negative seem to overpower her. I will never forget the night before she went to Heaven. She spoke kind words to me and I wondered why I couldn't have heard them years ago. Yet, my heart was thankful for that moment in time and words.
What is happening in your heart today? Remember you are an original masterpiece and there is nobody like you. God birthed you for this point and time in life. We will all see hard days and we will see good days. But a day with a title often brings back memories we want and we do not want.
My family friend (Shantae Green) wrote a book called, "A Childless Mother No More". You can check it out on amazon.com. It is her personal journey of life through wanting a child, miscarriages and much more. I am not sure who needs to read it, but I thought I would share it.
Another view point today is on Mother's who has children (Angels) in Heaven. Such a hard day with mixed emotions. I personal know moms who had babies, small children, teenagers and adult kids in Heaven now. There hearts hurt so much. I would ask you to pray today for others. People who need prayer and we might not even know it. My heart reaches out because it's not just a one day reminder, but a everyday reminder in their lives.
My story, I was 18 when my dad died. My mom in her early 40's and she stopped wanting to live. I felt like that day brought me two parents who left me. My dad who really did and my mom who left mentally. I use her story because I want to help someone move pass the grief into a new beginning. I know it hurts, I know it's crazy hard, but the child left behind on earth, still needs you! I needed my mom and I had to grow up quickly. I have tears as I write this today. No matter what you have faced, don't stop living again.
To the person celebrating the best mom ever! I thank God for your special day with her. Value moments that will never come back. Share a smile and a hug. Time is the best gift you can give anyone because we never know what today will bring. Things happen suddenly and our lives change forever. Today, I have a friend on my heart named Chelsea. She went to Heaven suddenly and left behind her only son Brandon. He was 18 years old and I see him now at the store he works at. He misses his mom greatly and his new normal continues to be hard. Pray for him today!
I WAS BORN TO WRITE ~
On the flip side, I thank God for my friend Laura. Her husband suddenly went to Heaven and she was faced with things like my mom. I felt to become her child's view point in life. I spoke ti her about what it was like being a 18 year old kid and how I needed my mom to become strong again. Laura, did go through a lot of pain, but she listen to move forward. She is now married again and happy. I value the connection God made between us and I think of her often.
To the children of divorce. Many feels broken or torn today between families. There are amazing moms, a amazing step-moms and grandma's, great grandmas and the circle of life continues. There are women who step up and fill the place of missing hearts. I never knew my grandmothers but I feel that they prayed for me. A praying woman can make a difference. Maybe you are not a mother, but you feel the affects of broken homes. I was speaking to a young woman yesterday and I saw the pain in her eyes. Only God can restore a heart and you making right choices. Stay determine to make your life better and not bitter.
THIS DAY ~
You might be extremely happy or sad, but purpose this a good day. After all is said and done, God created you to be you. His plan was for you to live in this day, Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, A promise and A future. I know it can be hard, but choose right thoughts today. If it's the best day ever, then count blessings in all your happiness today. Not everyone is sad or feels broken. I know many who will not attend church today because they talk about moms. I give thanks to the woman who birthed me (mom) and I thank God he created me for this day in life.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends!
