The Lord told Joshua this:
Joshua 1:9 New International Version (NIV)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
I believe the Lord has told us to be strong and courageous too!
Maybe things in life has you pull back because of past experiences. What if you don't try and then the best is just ahead of you? It is like looking at the class half empty or half full. Your choice in how you view it matters. You either have less or more. I am very positive person, but I do have days of wonder about life and the full purpose of it. I know what the Bible says about the beginning and the end, but it's all those in-between things that get to me. Have you ever just wonder too? I think it natural to wonder and should be natural to expect the greatness of God. Yet, I remind myself of what David says in the Bible: 1 Samuel 30: 6 (NIV)
David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God.
POINT ~ David found strength in the Lord his God
We must find strength in God and keep going forward in life. Sometimes we can't look to far ahead on things, but live in this day. One day at a time, one step at a time and knowing God is able. Just knowing a new day is filled with decisions and actions of your own. Nobody can make all of your decisions for you, you must take your life under God's plan for you. Jeremiah 29:11 speaks of have a plan, a promise and a future. Those three things can keep us on track of life.
LOOK AROUND ~
If we could only look around and see all the amazing things God has already done in our lives. Look into the sky of change and each day holds it's own beauty. Birds singing in summer, warm days and the feeling of everything is going to be alright. I will trust the Lord with all my heart and make a change today. Make the change of being strong, courageous and willing to take another step toward God. Seeking him with all your heart and living kindness everyday.
YOU GOT THIS ~
I would tell my kids this when they were little.
I have watched my kids grow into great adults. I remember praying over them for their happiness of life and watched them make decisions. Their own decisions have changed their lives and sometimes that good and sometimes that hard. It's no different than myself or you, because our choices not only affect us, but others. I still tell myself kid/adults, "you got this". Today, I am tell you this same statement, "you got this". No matter what you face, face it knowing God is right here to help you. Your own thoughts move into action. Look into the mirror today and say these words, "you got this". Call up the strong person inside of you and allow that new step to happen. A step of faithfulness God's way, seeking him and allowing him to grow you. Each of us grow daily and we certainly can learn from our own mistakes in life.
David in the Bible went through a lot in life. He made some mistakes and had consequences after them. Yet, God looked into his heart and saw that he loved him. God brought him through things and David knew that God was with him. Each of us has made our own mistakes of life. The Bible says we have all sinned but there is a way out. It's the way of the cross and Jesus giving his all for each of us. We may not all believe the same way in life or about God. All we must do is open the Bible for ourselves and read it. Read how a new day is here, a better way and there is true forgiveness of sin. I stayed trapped for a long time thinking that I was what people said I was. Today I live in freedom of who God says I am and love the fact that he uses my life to help others. He wants to do the same with you who read this. God is a good God and helps us through our struggles of life.
Sometimes that struggle is just how we view ourself. Just know this, "YOU GOT THIS" is your statement too. You and God makes a great team. Look at all the things you have already came through to your now. Be strong and courageous.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
