The year was about 1968 ~
My dad told me I needed to take typing in school. I asked him why and he said, "because I feel it's important for you". That was all I needed to hear and I signed up for a typing class in school. I learned to type on a machine similar to the one in the picture. It hurt my fingers, but my dad told me that my fingers would get stronger as I practice. I was 13 years old at the time and practiced a lot.
Here I am today ~ typing on a laptop computer and writing you daily! I see the importance of practicing and the value of my fingers today. As my fingers would press into that old typewriter, they would hurt and I would develop speed in typing. It brings me to the question of this:
WHAT IS GOD ASKING YOU TO DO ~
My answer is WRITE IT! What is yours?
It's easy for me to talk about writing a book and harder for me to do it. We are each different in many ways and battle our own thoughts. I am who I am today because of things I've gone through. My example goes further than I might ever know. I live real life and share with you daily. When I look back over some of my writings, I can see how God uses words to move others forward too. As a new day comes, we grow better or bitter. I totally choose the better!
Ephesians 4:13-15 New International Version (NIV)
13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
WHAT IS GOD ASKING YOU TO DO ~
To live God's word and keep doing the right thing in life
I feel to write this: Don't be so hard on yourself. Living in your now is important and God is working things out for you. Sure life can be hard at times, just like that old typewriter that made me press deeper with my fingers. It took time for me to learn to type and write from the middle of my heart. Our spiritual lives can be the same way. We press through things and go deeper in God. It takes time and some pain involved on different levels. Yet, we know the outcome is ahead. God ask us to surrender out ways to his ways. Our thoughts to his thoughts and our actions to his actions. Living a lifestyle of Jesus and keep doing the right thing.
Guard you heart as words can hurt. Think upon good things and know that these words written now are from my heart. I do care about the reader of my blog, your family and prayers. My prayers continue for each of you too. I just know that God has turned my life around many times and I see the good it brings. I might be a little harder on myself than I would like to imagine, but at the end of the day, I talk to Jesus. At the beginning of the day, I talk to Jesus. In-between it all, I still talk with Jesus. I have learned to press forward with positive thoughts.
Philippians 3:14 New International Version (NIV)
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
I PRESS ~ I WRITE ~ I CARE
