I was only a teenage girl when I felt a change in my heart. I wanted to know God more and I needed to learn his ways. I had to open the bible and read it for myself. Could it be true that Jesus really loved me and things could get better? I heard stories of how lives were changed and people gained insight on doing things different. The bible is consider the word of God. It became a light unto my path and I wanted to know more.
PSALM 119:105-108 (NIV)
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.
107 I have suffered much;
preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.
108 Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws.
Words that come from our mouths can make such a difference. Positive words of hope and a desire to serve God with all our hearts. Words from others that encourage us and helps us through a day. There are seasons of life and changes that happen to each of us. We travel new roads while old thoughts return. I have been there before and I know the outcome. When I gave my thoughts to God, he changed me from the inside out. He continues to change me daily. Daily I encourage you to press forward and live untidy.
WORDS ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:11 New International Version (NIV)
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
WORDS ~ Joshua 1:9 New International Version (NIV)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
WORDS ~ Proverbs 18:10 English Standard Version (ESV)
The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
Words are powerful ~
Last night, I had an opportunity to speak at a Propel Service at my church. It was the way the leader (Dezerai) presented me that made see something different. She spoke about me being a person who really prays. I came home to think about her words and began to cry. I know that God has brought me through a lot in my life and I value any opportunity to share his goodness with others. I write you daily because I care and want to send out encouraging words.
My own heart break has brought so much hope to others. I heard this last night from someone, "if you made it through that, it give me hope that I can make it". People watch our lives and our own words matter. I have said yes to God and allowed him to use my hurts, plus brokenness. God restores, he completes and gives us new beginnings. Our own mindset matters and time is precious. I know that somedays are just hard and it isn't as simple as a positive word or is it? Tell yourself you are important and your example matters. That is a very good start to a new day!
My prayers are with you, your family and friends. Thank you for reading this and sharing it with someone.
