Matthew 6:19-24 New International Version (NIV)
Treasures in Heaven
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
WITHIN MY HEART ~
Are victories of life and other parts that bring sadness
We deal with new normals of life. I write about my first loss of a person in life. That would be my dad when I was 18 years old. He would die suddenly inside our bathroom at home and nothing would be the same nothing. My mom would lay for hours into days crying. She wanted to die and go to heaven. My mind would trip over her words and I would try hard for the next 40 years to make her happy. There were moment of smiles but mostly, she decided to live in the past on things she wished she had done. I'm writing today because I really feel that someone needs to read this.
WITHIN MY HEART ~
I reached out to God, family and friends. My life started over many times, but memories of yesterdays remain. I know that God is faithful and it's important for us to be faithful back. Our lives in younger years are our past, but yet valuable. We can learn and grow into a better person each day of life. I don't know your childhood or even your today, but God does. He cares for the broken heart. Within your heart are stories too and lessons learned. Take those lessons and grow from them.
GOD IS ABLE ~
God gives us his word and that's valuable. He leads us down paths of life and wants us to make good decisions. If we choose a wrong decision, then get ready for some consequences. I have made my own mistakes in life and live with some consequences of those choices. Yet, I live with a God who kept his promises about helping me. People who say yes to God affect others lives in a big way. You may never see the depth of your testimony but it does affect someone. It only takes one life to make a difference and that would be you! It's not about a lot of money or look what I have in life, but about the freedom of living in peace of mind.
Romans 12:1-2 New International Version (NIV)A Living SacrificeTherefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Guard your heart, protect your mind and live in freedom of words. Words that spur you on and your testimony of how far God has brought your life. Everybody makes mistakes and sins. Yes, everybody and God forgives us to move into a relationship with him. There is power in thoughts and actions. Purpose yours to be good one!
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
