Romans 10:17 New King James Version (NKJV)So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
When I was in my early 30's, I met women who knew the power of prayer. I saw them at church and at the altars praying. I didn't understand the complete concept of praying out loud or standing in for someone who couldn't be there for prayer. Life is teaching me things I learned was wrong and true. The women I am talking about what much older than me and I valued their words. Each Sunday I watch them and I listen to the words they said. Teaching me about the power of prayer. I grabbed on to that I began to learn the truth.
Proverbs 18:21 King James Version (KJV)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Words can grow us in a positive way and negative way
When I was a kid, I learned somethings that was wrong. My mom was very superstitious and I learned her behavior of that. If a black cat crossed the street while we were driving, she would stop the car and turn it around to go a different way. I broke a mirror as a kids about 11 and was told I made the family experience the next 7 years with bad luck. She said it was all my fault. So I learned wrong things because I don't believe this. I believe the word of God and he sets us free from all things.
2 Corinthians 3:17 New International Version (NIV)
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
I remember asking my friend to teach me about freedom.
We grow up different in life and learn different things. Even sitting in the same room with a teacher teaching, we can hear something different. I remember hearing that JESUS LOVES ME and that statement stayed inside my heart as a kid. I had went to a church with a friend (Connie) and her family. The Sunday School teacher told me that Jesus loves me and gave me a small plaque with those words. I sat it by my bed and read it every night as a kid. I didn't understand the depth of Jesus or the freedom I could experience. The words in the Bible became alive when I was about 19 years old. It was the beginning of learning and growing in a new thought pattern.
Comes by hearing and believing the truth
We can live in bondage of what we have been taught or the freedom in new beginnings. Be careful who you allow in your life. Be careful who you listen to and believe. I focused on the Bible and began to learn myself. I had to cast down thoughts that were never true about myself. I was told as a kid I was not smart, not cute and would never measure up to my cousin. Guess what? I am smart, I am cute and I am who God created me to be. Each life makes a difference and you have the ability to put positive thoughts into your head today. I am sorry for negative words you have been told, but it's not the truth through the eyes of God. Forgiveness happens, new beginnings are meant to be and you are free in God's word. Freedom of mind is yours!
2 Corinthians 10:5-6 King James Version (KJV)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Here it is, a new day! Our now is happening and God is able to handle your now. Begin to think with positive thinking and see yourself the way God does. His plan is never to live in negative thinking and in fear. Cast down those words that might haunt you and live in freedom starting now. Pray for healthy friendships and great connections in life. Weigh things out before you believe what others say. Read the Bible for yourself and grow in wisdom daily.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
