For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
God's Masterpiece ~
I wonder how often we compare our lives to others and God clearly said that we are his masterpiece. One of a kind and designed for purpose. Daily our lives face new beginnings and things change. Doors that will open and other doors that will close before us. I was talking with someone yesterday about believing God has our lives planned out. Yet, our free will either goes along with his plan or we try to design our own lives. I believe God stirs our hearts and we just know to do somethings and his peace remains.
When I think of a masterpiece, I think of a one of a kind painting and seen through the eyes of the artist. Just like God paints the sky everyday of life for us, he paints us in a beautiful picture. God sees us changed from sin to freedom.
Isaiah 66:1-2 New Living Translation (NLT)
This is what the Lord says:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Could you build me a temple as good as that?
Could you build me such a resting place?
2 My hands have made both heaven and earth;
they and everything in them are mine.
I, the Lord, have spoken!
I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts,
who tremble at my word.
There is something about God's word that brings hope, peace and praise. There is no time for you to compare your life to someone else. God has designed you to be you. Nobody else can carry out the mission that God design you to do. I have spent too much time thinking I am not good enough, smart enough or not like someone else. I have learned to like me, be me and live in freedom of who I am. Even through all my mistakes in life, God has forgiven me and set my feet on his path. I was never created to be you and you were never created to be me. We can learn from each other, grow in his ways and reach lives for his glory. We must choose not to live in regrets of yesterdays, but in the freedom of today.
I believe God says, "WHY NOT ME". He wants us to live in his truth and walk in his ways. He wants us to surrender our complete hearts to him. He wants us to pick him daily. When I was a teenager, I remember picking teams for baseball in school. The teacher would pick two people and have them choose girls from the class on their side. I heard these words, "pick me". Then the teams would be picked. I remember asking myself why I was the last person to be picked. Maybe I didn't come in first, but I still made the team. Each of us hold a different position and yet valuable. I think you get it, God wants to use each of us in his own way. You made the team and you do have a valuable part.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Don't forget who you are today and live in the freedom of that.
