Jesus Calms the Storm
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
WHY ~
The story of Jesus calming the waters shows us the power of God
As time moves forward, we can get stopped in our now of life. The storm that hits our lives in different ways. We can call upon the name of Jesus and wait. The wonder of why me God and so many thoughts run through your head. When you watch someone else go through the worse thing, you feel their heart and the wonder of why too. Yet, you know that God can change a circumstance in a moments time.
I have a nephew who is facing a hard doctor's report. He is only 36 years old and found out he has Parkinson's Disease. He will message me and ask why me? I don't know how to answer that, because I don't know why. He just got an amazing job, girl friend and life looked great. He told me how happy he was and then all of a sudden, he could tell somethings was wrong physically. After he heard the bad news of the doctor, his complete life changed. He had to go on disability and a new normal would begin. That new normal wasn't one of a happy heart at all. It is sad and continues to be sad. Yet, he does trust God for a miracle.
WHY GOD ~
The only thing I know to do when the storm hits, is hold onto God's miracle working power.
I believe this is where broken but breathing comes in. Will I trust God in the doctor's report and continue to believe for a miracle? YES, that is the hope of a new day. I also know that miracles don't always come in a moment, but we wait on the power of God to heal. Healing a process and it's hard to wait, but God gives strength in the healing process.
Lets, pray:
God, I don't always understand your plan and I wait on your miracle working power. We join together today in prayer for those who need a miracle and we hold on. Maybe it's us and we need that miracle and we hold on. Holding on isn't always easy and we ask that you send your peace to minds today and rest in knowing you can calm their storm now. A change can come and we praise you through the storm. I personally have seen miracles and wait with those who need to see their's today. We also give praise in all seasons, because we know your own hope and source of strength. As storms calm, the sun comes out and lives change. Help each person who reads this day, their family and friends. I know your power is real and greater than our now. Help us this day and thank you God for all you do. AMEN
The true answer to lives is praise to God and prayer to God. He is the beginning and the end. The bible holds many miracle stories and lived changed. I choose to believe for you, your family and friends today. The why isn't as important as we grow older, but how do I get through this. We get through it by keeping the faith, breathing and thanking God for a new day to begin again. When my daughter had her brain bleed, all I knew to do was call upon the name of Jesus and call friends to pray. In the waiting, I learned much and it changed me too. Keeping faith alive is important and that's our hope. Purpose this a good day.
