Profiting from Trials
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
WHEN IT HAPPENS TO YOU ~
Remember the joy of the Lord is your strength
I have seen the Lord be faithful through the worst times of life. I started thinking back about situations that were crazy hard in my life. I can look back and see how God was there all the time. It was me who left him in frustration and even anger of life. Why did God take my dad to Heaven when I was only 18 years old? Yet, I hear others wish they knew their dad in life.
The Bible says to count it all joy when faced with various trials. We must be sold out for Jesus and know he is able to handle our now of life. We face hard things are humans and yet a peace that only can come from God. There is something about life, when it hits you in unexpected hardships, it is just hard. I find myself telling others to trust the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understand and just encouraging a person. When somethings it's me, I feel a scared feeling inside immediately and call upon the name of Jesus. I am human and emotions take over before I can even think.
WHAT'S NEXT ~
When it happens to you
Prayer changes you and that changes things. Healing is a process of time. In that time, we think and process our own thoughts. When you surrender your heart to Jesus, you find a joy that comes into your heart. It's a daily process to learn about God and his ways. Taking on the character of Jesus and doing good. Speaking kind words and not putting others day. Living life the way you would like to be treated and becoming an good example to others. I say all of this and sometimes struggle myself. I find that human part of me come out and need to recheck my life. Our mindset is important and never forget being human just happens at times, but we can check that attitude quickly.
Romans 12:1-2 New International Version (NIV)A Living SacrificeTherefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
My thoughts and prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Don't be hard on yourself and remember that God created you to make a difference. Your example is so important. When Jesus came into my heart, it started the process of change. Each day I learn and I grow from my own mistakes of life. Letting go of what I can not change and changing the things I can. I hope you will too.
