I see the bench by the trees. Under the trees is rest time. A place to just sit and think of the goodness of God. A place of hope and knowing the roots of the trees go deep. A reminder that the devil wants to divide us from things that are good. It's time to grow up and take it like an adult. Not everybody will understand you, but God's plan is at work.
Hebrews 5:11-14 New International Version (NIV)Warning Against Falling Away11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!
13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
REST ~
Good from evil
I heard these scriptures above and I really didn't get it. I didn't understand the solid food statement and still living on milk as an infant. I get now and I know that God has a time for each of us to grow up and live according to God's plan. I remember hearing a teacher speak on the fact of adults in their 50's need to live according to the word of God and not give up. Yet, there was a great falling away of older living their life as an example.
I find that some of the falling away is due to our own choices. It's often easier to walk away than to face the facts of a situation. The fact is, we have all sinned and fallen away from God. It takes God drawing us back, but also takes us letting go of our will. I love how the tree example goes deep with roots, but also how the branches spread out in different directions. Our lives are meant to be solid in God, letting those roots go deeper than ever. As our branches spread out, so does our thoughts and actions. Let God guide your life so gentle and trust beyond limits.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends!
