My journey continues as I write you daily. I see how far God has brought my life and I believe that people read this page and received hope. We all have a story and you don't even know was birthed as a result of much heartbreak, plus a determination to make a difference in this world.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 New International Version (NIV)
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
The day was like any other day. I got up to take care of a 5 year old and 2 year old. My husband went to work and it was a good day. Then later in the day, I would receive a phone call. The phone call that would change not only my life, but my family too. The year was 1985 and my husband would fall over 40 feet from a crane knocking over the steel column he was in. He was a union carpenter with cracked ribs, a broken knee cap, much pain and no job for over a year. He went through depression and the training for a new career would begin. He would try being a Copy Machine Guy but it just didn't work. Financially we would be learn to live on a much lower income and the worry of what was next in life. He decided to try Carpenter work again and found his fear in going up high on things. He keep pressing forward and conquer the fear. So what am I trying to say today?
We choose to trust God through this season of change. Our minds wondered why, however and when would things get better. Well my friends, things only seem to get worse but that's for another day. Through it all, we trusted God and restored his job. We trusted God and he restored our finances. We trusted God and the anxiety of life faded away.
We believe the Bible and we know that Fear is not from God. The Bible says: Do not fear when the heat comes because you are planted with roots that can reach the stream. Translation to human lives of being rooted and grounded in the word of God. Knowing that it is God who is our daily keeper. This situation we were faced with stirred up our faith. We knew we had to stay strong in God and allow our new season of life to lead us straight ahead.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Fear tries to enter our lives with worry, doubt and wonder.
God enters our life with peace, joy and I got this!
WHAT IF ~
I trust God with my complete heart and lean not to my own understanding. Change happens to each of us and our response is important. Allow yourself to rest in freedom of knowing God is in control. We might not understand the complete will of God, but we can understand the one day that God created. The day he created you to make a difference. Through our own experiences, we change. That change can help someone else too. Calling up the strong man or woman of God you are today. There is no fear because God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Today I write about HOPE! I write about a God who takes us through storms of life and a new beginning can happen. Thank you taking time to read this and allow God to move your heart toward him today.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
