I want to trust God with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding at times of life. Christmas time brings us to little kids who ask Santa for things. Christmas time brings our own hearts to asking for things and maybe wondering why some other things didn't happen the way we thought. If we allow the wonder to overpower our trust in God, it will divide our heart. I have found that somethings in life I will never understand the why of. I finally became okay with that and lean to God for his strength through things.

Sometimes we must go after what we want

What happens when you do ask and you don't get it? I heard others say that it wasn't God's plan for me to get it. For example, I always wanted a big new house. So I prayed and I got it. It was beautiful and I loved it so much. Then suddenly, my husband lost his job and things started go down for us. Our financially problems became real to us. We had to make a choice to sale that house and we were suppose to get another one later in life. Well things didn't go as planned and we moved into a 4 plex place. We had two kids who needed to share a room. We called it saving money to buy a house. That never happened and one day I drove out to find a mobile home park. It was peaceful there and had a pool, park, and basketball court. Our kids could play and enjoy life there. So we made a choice to buy it. Over 25 years later, we still live here and enjoy our grandchildren playing outside now. I still have that longing for a big house.
Words from others can either build us up or break us inside. I heard someone mention people who live in mobile homes are ghetto. I heard someone else say, mobile home people are trailer park trash. What? I never knew these words before I brought my mobile home. I live in my now of life and count it a blessing I have a mobile home. It's much better than the 4 plex we lived. So what am I trying to say? Just live at where you are at and count blessings of it. It could be worse and God is still able someday to give me the dream of a big house. I won't give up but I find that my own planning of dollars is what was needed then and my husband didn't want to a big house. I find we aren't on the same page of some wants in life. People change we can see that, but it doesn't mean that we don't still belong together. I think you understand what I mean.
Back to God now, I do find him able to handle my day. Just remember your own choices guides your life too. If you plan today for retirement, you will have a good one when you are ready to retire. If you plan today to give someone a gift at Christmas, you can make that happen. The best gift ever is time and telling someone how important they are to you! My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
