WE BECOME FANS ~
Often wearing our favorite team shirt. People coming together to watch the game and showing their support for the team. The team takes long hours of practice and doing their best to win the game. But we must keep in mind, there is one team doesn't win. We cheer for our winning team and we become disappointed when our team looses. It takes practice and dedication to a sport when you are the player.
We become fans or supporters of others things too!
For example: when a person is getting a new position at work, church, school or just a great grade in school. We become cheerleaders of those we love and care about in life. Finding out that life is short and we are not promised the rest of this day or even tomorrow. We are to live the best live we can and cheer others on to do their best. But in all the cheering, lets not forget you. Jesus gave us his example and we are to do our best daily.
I didn't quite understand the Jesus thing when I was younger. It took time to read the Bible, talk about it with others and learn for myself. I give the example of being on a new team. My old thoughts had to go and I needed to allow God to mold me. I found a few scriptures today that helped me that I want to share.
John 13:15 New International Version (NIV)
15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
1 John 1:9 New International Version (NIV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
We do become cheerleaders for God. Telling others about his mercy and grace. Speaking all the positive things that happen when we surrender our hearts to God. Living a new lifestyle of freedom of wrong thing, hurtful things and pressing forward daily. It all sounds so simple, but we must remember their is a real enemy of our soul that wants us to stop. He divides things and makes things look impossible, but God says that nothing is impossible to who who believe. So keep those eyes looking up and watching how God chances one life, one day and connects you with others.
I have been through many church things in my life, but they are just people too. So I learned to let go of things and keep doing what God has called me to in this life. I know it's to lead, to write and to carry an example the best I can. I am also human and make mistakes. I need to ask forgiveness of others and let things go. Church is a way to connect you to great friends and worship the God we serve. We each do that in our own way but coming together is important.
Daily I become my own cheerleader. Knowing I am doing my best and keeping the goal before me ~ HEAVEN! Speaking words of life to yourself is valuable and focusing on God daily. We do go through ups and downs in life, but God is always there for us. Go ahead, cheer yourself on and see how great it feels to know you are part of a winning team.
Today is a new day. Count some blessings. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
