Isaiah 51:15-16 New International Version (NIV)
15 For I am the Lord your God,
who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar--
the Lord Almighty is his name.
16 I have put my words in your mouth
and covered you with the shadow of my hand--
I who set the heavens in place,
who laid the foundations of the earth,
and who say to Zion, ‘You are my people."
As I see the waves in this picture above, I am reminded that God is in control. The waves come in and go out. It's a clear day and I love seeing bridges. A bridge that takes us over the waters and waves in a car or sometimes a train. It also reminds me of human needing a bridge to cross of life and that is only through the power of God that can happen. God alone is able to make the waves stop and calm can come into one situation suddenly.
Can you only image what Moses thought as he was told to cross the red sea? God spoke to him and basically told Moses to take actions. Raise the staff over the waters and watch my power. As Moses followed the voice of God, he saw miracles happen and so did many others.
Exodus 14:15 (NIV)
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
Not only Moses needed to trust God by lifting his staff, but the people needed to trust Moses and God. As the waters divided, the people began to cross. They made it safely to the ofter side and there was no bridge. The waves split and there is the power of God!
TRUST ~ PEACE ~ REST
God is the only one who can calm our souls and give us rest!
Last night I went to dinner with a friend and a movie. Things were going great and suddenly a reminder of a situation came up. Our human minds can go backwards and reminders pop into our lives at times. Crossing those waves of change and knowing that today is not yesterday. Somethings we can't change and can't allow the enemy to steal our joy. We must press forward and suddenly stop our thoughts as quickly as they came. Anything that keeps us going backwards in thought is not okay my friends, but we must learn to deal with it. Thoughts happen and there is nothing we can do about that, but there is something we can do by letting it go quickly. God has already taken us through that point of life, no reason to go back.
Let us not forget that the devil would like to destroy our walk with God. If he can place little things in our thoughts, then can turn into big things. Keep your mind stayed on God and quote Roman 12:1-2 Renew that mind in thoughts. Think upon who God lifted you up, when things looked impossible. A deep breathe and give yourself a high five for getting this far in life. I do that with myself in thoughts. Things trouble my brain and I must let it go. I pray, seek God and allow him freedom to mold my life. I've changed over the years and I'm not who I was when I was 30 years old. My walk with God is deeper and I trust God even more. Though it all, God builds bridges of hope, peace, joy and love that carries us over one connected bridge of life. Thank you for taking the time to read this and planting new thoughts of freedom in your minds and lives together.
I have my door open writing you at 6:30am, listening to birds and expected high of 90 degrees where I live today. Crazy because this coming Saturday is expected to be 64 with rain. We are sure experience change in weather in CA. Here we go, off to a new day and count some blessings. Remember how God put words in Moses mouth and said to speak. God also put kindness into our hearts with words, go about this day sharing hope with someone. A friendly smile to a stranger even and let that kindness shine through you.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
