1 Corinthians 15:58 New International Version (NIV)
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
STAND FIRM ~
A powerful scripture to remember. Faith and prayer goes together. I heard someone say that they wondered if God really heard their prayer. Looking around we can see others that seem to prosper so much and I understand that question. I also understand that seasons in my own life has come to victories and others to sadness. If we stay too long on wondering why, we can drift from the truth. I know that God is able to handle my life, my family and friends lives too.
Thanksgiving this year was hard for my family. As I watched my daughter and her family not be in their house that burned because of the Napa fires, I held back tears. I know their hearts and they loved their house and family time. Sure they had family time where they were, but it didn't mean they missed their own things. Beginning again isn't easy at times as I watch my daughter. She is a strong young woman and she knows that they are loved by many. There comes a time when we must just hold onto trust, God's word and knowing he is able to restore things.
Along with the message yesterday at church, this scripture would said:
Matthew 24:25 New International Version (NIV)
See, I have told you ahead of time.
SEE ~ Pastor Eric's message continue as he told us the word SEE is so important.
Life changes for each of us. The important things are seeing the power of God and resting in his plan. We might not understand everything, but knowing God is able is so valuable. Have you ever seen someone who stands firm in the word of God? It's like they just know that God is able to handle anything that comes their way. Some people have planted their roots deep into the word of God. Their lifestyle has become one of faith, hope, trust and leaning to him in all times. Something will come our way that is planned and some unplanned. As I have gotten older, I realize that things I thought would stop me forever, did not. It was because God was able to reach down and touch my heart. A brand new me came out of hard situations.
GOD IS ABLE ~
To handle lack of money
To handle sickness
To hand lose of a job
To hand all the crazy stuff that might go through your head. A brand new you comes out of brokenness. I know this because I am an example of pushing through the pain. The pain of loosing it all and beginning again. The pain of looking a loved one and life moves forward. I can't make a list of things right now, but I know that God is able to handle your now. What do you need to turn over to God today? Are you trusting him with all your heart?
Acts 1:7 New International Version (NIV)
He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
WAITING IS IMPORTANT ~ GOD IS AT WORK BEHIND THE SCENES OF LIFE
I have heard that God's timing is perfect. God has a way of bringing us out of things and a way of connecting us to new beginnings. So much change can happen and you can look back to see how God use your now to push you forward. I know life isn't always easy or even seen fair, but I know that God is able! Take your focus off a negative thing and allow your faith to grow. I do care and my prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
