1 Peter 3:3-4 New International Version (NIV)
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
I often think of what beauty really is in life. The beauty of a new day and knowing God truly is there for me. The beauty of a family and friends who care about me. The beauty I see inside my heart and knowing God helps me do the right thing in life. As I surrender my heart and my will to his will, I find a new character developing inside of me. That inside of me comes outside with my attitude. Changing daily and growing into a better person.
Matthew 5 (NIV)
Introduction to the Sermon on the MountNow when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.
The BeatitudesHe said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
There is beauty inside of you that wants to come out daily. There is beauty around you that God wants you to see and hold onto. He created you for a greater purpose and wants the joy of him to shine. As a new day begins, see how far God has brought your life to now. All the special moments and the strength you didn't realize you had.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
