It's a good time to start now with a mindset of peace. Pressing into a new day with hope and determination to make this a great day. Nobody knows what today will bring but putting things off is not always a good thing. We must deal with our own thoughts and our own lives. God has given us many things and give us ability to complete them.
I was thinking of my childhood. I remember having a black and white TV. There was no color and had to get up to change a channel. The telephone would have little round circles to put your finger to dial a number. We had to get up to answer the phone. There were no cell phones or remote controls then. Life would move forward and electronics would make it easy not to get up. My younger self never experienced these amazing things. My older self can say back then, life made us get up.
GET UP ~
The year is 2017 and we need to get up. I remember reading of a man who was blind and wanted to get to Jesus. He had to get up and go. It took action on his part.
John 5 New International Version (NIV)
The Healing at the Pool
5 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. [4] 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on which this took place was a Sabbath, 10 and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”
11 But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ”
12 So they asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?”
13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well.
TOMORROW IS TODAY ~
Jesus told the man this, "See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you". A fresh start with Jesus and the man has the opportunity not to sin. I have made my own mistakes in life. I believe that God gives us each opportunities to stop something and give our lives to him. So our yesterdays are gone, our today is here and tomorrow is not promised. There is no reason to live over your mistakes in life or regrets. We must live in today with our lives choosing right and a fresh start of a new day.
I was talking with a friend and I was concerned about something. Her words were this, "aren't you the lady who believes in new beginnings". Wow moment and yes I am. I sometimes need to remind myself that Jesus came into my life to rescue me. As he does for each of us and even the blind man in the above scriptures. Remind yourself that Jesus said, "See, you are well again". Keep believing and keep pressing forward. God's timing is different for each of us but he keeps his promises.
It is time to get up and live in freedom of thoughts plus actions. God is good to each of us and we deal with life situations differently. We can read the Bible and apply it the best we can, but still are human. We deal with hard things of life and good things of life. One day at time and know that your life is important.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
