12 So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Just as the clock has a second hand on it, seconds turn into minutes, minutes into hours and hours into one day. One day I was taught as a child and one day I became an adult. I never realized how quickly those days turns into years.
I had a dream last night that was powerful. I am spending too much time on being concerned about something that is not my decision. I been thinking lately about my past and wasted time. We must be very careful in life and speak life words even to ourselves. So many times I'm concerned about others and I find myself tired at night. I often think, wow I wasted so many hours and it got me no where. Then in the dream, my friend's car broke down. I pulled over and said, "I'll help you". Her reply was, "really, I didn't think you liked me". I was shocked and ask her why. She said, "I over hear you saying you had no friends and I always thought I was your friend". In that dream, I helped her and she was shocked. I found that a few words planted in her heart that I never wanted to plant or even meant. Words are powerful. I felt God correct me in my dream and I woke up knowing that every word matters. Speak life words to yourself, to others and even people you do not know. You might only have seconds, but make them powerful ones.
Words spoken are put into the heart bank of life.
Felt deeper than we can imaged and played over way too much. My friend in the dream is Anna and I did speak those words in Starbucks and she overheard me. It wasn't that I felt I had no friends, you had to hear the complete story. I felt bad and she looked sad. I do have a lot of friends and feel very bless in life. Yet, those words played over, because she even texted me later. I messed up by speaking words and you just never know who will hear you. I felt to share this today because life is short. You never want those negative or wrong words to stick of your last words to someone. We don't always hear the full story. Yet, as the clock ticks away, I read Psalms 12 about generations to generations. It only takes a few minutes to read this chapter and I felt you should today. A prayer from Moses (A man of God) that we can learn from and grow from in life.
Psalm 90 English Standard Version Book
Everlasting to Everlasting
90 Lord, you have been our dwelling place
in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3 You return man to dust
and say, “Return, O children of man!”
4 For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night.
5 You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream,
like grass that is renewed in the morning:
6 in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
in the evening it fades and withers.
7 For we are brought to an end by your anger;
by your wrath we are dismayed.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 For all our days pass away under your wrath;
we bring our years to an end like a sigh.
10 The years of our life are seventy,
or even by reason of strength eighty;
yet their span is but toil and trouble;
they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11 Who considers the power of your anger,
and your wrath according to the fear of you?
12 So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
13 Return, O Lord! How long?
Have pity on your servants!
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
and for as many years as we have seen evil.
16 Let your work be shown to your servants,
and your glorious power to their children.
17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands upon us;
yes, establish the work of our hands!
