I remember my mom stressing so much at Christmas time. She knew it would be hard and she didnt' have enough money. Growing up, it seemed like so much of my life heard about this, "No, we can not buy that I don't have money". It was hard for a little kid to understand about money. Even a box of cereral became a no to me at times. I grew up doing the same thing to my kids. No we don't have money and I never saw that harm until I go older. Now my granddaughters never hear me say I don't have money. I guard their minds from lack of money but live in a reality of balance. I will never put any stress of their little lives or minds. I teach them about Jesus and his power. I find time to play and spend time with them.
Just maybe we forget what this season is about and why do we celebrate Christmas. It's about the birth, a celebreate of Jesus and time with family plus friends. Yet, we do want gifts for our loved ones and we want to buy them things they want. I get that and I understand the lack of money too. Do your best in making fun times happen. Like baking cookies are so easy and fun for kids. Just some time watching a Christmas movie and laughing a lot.
ANXIETY ~ flip side to stress is.....
Blessings of what we do have in life. Realizing that Christmas is about the gift that God gave us named Jesus. Learning to balance our time in spending with those we love. Our thoughts and words are so powerful. You can control your words.
Proverbs 18:21New International Version (NIV)
The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 13:3 New International Version (NIV)Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
In life we do our best daily to keep postive thoughts. Even through the hardest of times, our example is important to someone. There is always a person who thinks of us and wonders how we might handle life when life gets hard. I write from the middle of my heart daily to you. The reason is maybe one person reads this who needs a new beginning. Maybe one person needs to hear that they are important to someone. Jesus lived his life by example and people looked forward to seeing him. They heard of his miracle working powers and his example still lives today. Not every prayer is answered the way we think, but we learn from each experience of life. Holding on for others who need us to be strong and holding on for ourselves too. Jesus is still real and his power is beyond measure.
Some thoughts just pop into our minds and it's up to each of us to dwell on them or cast them away. Go ahead and cast those negative thoughts off. Pop in some positive ones and purpose this a good day. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. I do know that stress is real but taking your mind off a situation is imporant too. Living real life with you daily and thankful you took the time to read this. I do care and you are important! Speak positive words about yourself.
