Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)
24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
We wake up in different places of life. Some days the sun shines bright inside of us and other days, we tend to deal with more thoughts. The real world events affect us and our everyday life affects us. I am glad that this is the day that the Lord has made and it becomes my choice to rejoice and be glad in it. We might not be waking up by the ocean, the sunrise across the water or on vacation. We wake up to this day that the Lord has made. We must find rest in God and know that he is working on side.
Matthew 12 (NLV)Jesus Teaches about the Day of Rest
12 At that time Jesus walked through the grain-fields on the Day of Rest. His followers were hungry and began to pick off grain to eat. 2 The proud religious law-keepers saw this. They said to Jesus, “See! Your followers do what the Law says not to do on the Day of Rest.”
3 He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he and his men were hungry? 4 He went into the house of God and ate the special bread used in worship which was against the Law for him or those with him to eat! Only the Jewish religious leaders were to eat that special bread.
5 Have you not read in the Law how the religious leaders do that which is not right to do on the Day of Rest, and yet they are not guilty? 6 I tell you that Someone greater than the house of God is here. 7 If you had understood what the words mean, ‘I want loving-kindness and not a gift to be given,’ you would not say a person is guilty who has done no wrong.
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Day of Rest.”
THIS DAY ~ we find our rest in God. This is the day that the Lord has made. Even though Christmas is over for a lot of people, those who serve the Lord know that Jesus was born for a greater purpose than just being a baby. God's plan was greater and continues to generation to generations to come. We have free will of our thoughts and actions. We are taught right from wrong.
We make our own decisions and often blame God. Even my own choices has gotten me into trouble and I look back to see how free will played a big part. My decisions were not God lead or God bases. I became very human and got angry at God in years past. I see how God never gave up on me and knew my purpose was greater than anger. That's part of why I write you today, I want others to see how one human life makes mistakes, gets back up and begins again. A new day bring hope, love and peace, but it begins in you.
So readers of my blog, my prayers are with you, your family and friends. I don't know what you have been through but God is still there. He wants more for you in life and it begins in you and a new day. Brings you thoughts, your time and actions under his plan. Jeremiah 29:11 a plan, a promise and a future in him. I care and I mean that! Make this a good day!
