I LOVE LUCY (TV SERIES 1951 - 1957)
It played on a small screen in black and white. It began with one woman (Lucy) who had determination to include her husband (Desi). They became a team and the show added others as well. There is much more to their story, but my point today is on determination to include someone else in your story.
I was born in 1955 and there wasn't a TV in every home. I know this because my parents did not have a TV then. Life would move forward and I remember Lucy being on TV in 1960 and was one of my mom's favorite rerun shows. I always looked forward to seeing her and she made me laugh. I see the importance of ONE LIFE and ONE LIFE that is determined to fight for what they want. The TV show wanted Lucy, but not Desi in the beginning. Lucy let her desire be known and stood her ground. As you can see today, Lucy and Desi (Ricky) made people laugh and continue with reruns 2016.
Let me bring this determination into a spiritual sense now. God wants us to be determine to live our the desires of our hearts. Inside my heart are desires of life. Things I know God has called me to do and other things I need to press through. God has created each of us to be strong and courages to stand up for what is right in life.
Psalm 37:4 New International Version (NIV)4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
THINK ABOUT IT ~
If we don't stand up for what we believe, it might not happen!
I can look back in life and see how things were so different. I can see how some people have made positive changes in our country and others have not. They join forces and change happens. Black and white TV went to color. We now have remotes to turn a TV and when I was kid, we had to get up and change the TV. They had little antenna on it or on your roof. Someone would come along and change all of that and it was for the better. Then I am reminded that prayer ended in schools in 1962. Our world would begin to change and some kids would never know prayer was even there. As I help in my granddaughters Kindergarten Class last year, they only stood to say the Pledge of Allegiance on Mondays. When I was a kid, it was everyday.
THINK ABOUT IT ~
Things change in our world and now how about your life!
Genesis 1 New International Version (NIV)
The Beginning1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
The Bible remains the same! From the beginning to the end of one book, it holds the truth for our lives. Living examples of others who went before us and paved a way greater. People who made mistakes and changed their lives. People who made mistakes and choose to continue to do wrong. There is a hope within the Bible that guides us to a greater day. People need examples for them. Let your life bean example of doing what is right. Speak up for truth and share it. Take care of you and share your story to someone else. We grow from examples and we learn from others. We can also learn from ourselves too. God has created you for purpose!
God saw the dark needed light. God saw that the earth needed form and so much more. God also saw that one day, you would stand up and make a difference. Putting Jesus in the middle of your heart changes you and helps others too. I thank you for taking time to read this, plant hope and see that change happens to each of us. We can make the best of a hard situation and we can breath into because God created us to be different.
I see how one choice matters and it changes lives! My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Happy new day!
