Thinking of the word "TRUST"
Our money in America reminds us daily, of whom we are to trust. It reads: IN GOD WE TRUST
Giving thanks for dollars in our pockets, also as a reminder of trust. I heard a story about a penny. A person picked up a penny every time they saw one on the ground. It was a reminder of in God we trust.
Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

BIBLE ~
A book that holds stories and teaches us about the past, the present and the future. People who made commitments to God and yet failed. People who got back up again and forgiveness was given. People who were just like you and me, being human. There must be a trust in God like no other.
Yesterday, my husband received a phone call about our stolen car. The car was found, but it was totaled. We only had liability insurance on it. The sad news isn't about the car, but the 25 year old woman driving it. She had drove through the stop sign and a truck hit her. She died at the accident and our hearts are broken for her family/friends. Also for the driver of the truck who deals with this accident. I don't know why things happen like this. I began to pray today and I heard the scripture Psalm 46:10 BE STILL and KNOW THAT I AM GOD.
My heart breaks for both families/friends. Yes, we lost the money of this vehicle but that's nothing compared to a life. Choosing to lean not to our own understanding and trusting God even when things don't make sense. It feels like everybody involved lost and yet I looked a dollar and saw this: IN GOD WE TRUST. A sudden reminder of how short life can be and the value of it. The Bible does say there is a time for all things. It doesn't mean our hearts won't grieve or wonder, but we are trust the Lord through it all. Our human brains can not make sense of such a tragedy.
Ecclesiastes 3 New International Version (NIV)
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die
Life is short and we never know what is next. Make sure you commit your ways unto God and lean not to you own understanding. Praying much for those who read this, your family and friends. Make sure you hug someone day and share how much you care. We just don't know what one day will bring. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
I do believe that God is a God of new beginnings as well. Each day we have choices and each day we live with emotions. Some good, some bad and some wonder. Let us not wonder in God, but trust beyond a human understanding. The words to listen to are: BE STILL and KNOW THAT I AM GOD.
