The Christmas Season brings about Christmas trees. Many trees on found inside homes and decorated. At the top of that tree, is sometimes the star that is put on when the tree is done when decorated. People step back in awe of that moment. Others times that star can be an angel or something special to the person.
I love to look up in the sky and see a star or many stars
In the Bible,
Matthew 2:1-11 New International Version (NIV)
The Magi Visit the Messiah
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
STAR ~ The star guided them
Christmas isn't just about trees and presents. It's about one star that guided the lives of others. It's about Jesus and his birth. It's about sharing time and gifts with others too. I believe the most present gift you can give, is time. Time means you like that person, you want to share something special and remembering just how great the gift of life is to us.
Once you have been faced with a life issue, you know the importance of prayer, miracles and living in a new day. A short story of my life is this. My dad died when I was 18 years old. My brother died on Christmas day when I was 32 and he was 37 years old. Christmas changed over the years. My mom was sad and never really came our of grieving for 40 years. I did my best to make her happy but no gifts were enough. She says sad and only wanted to die. That's a hard thing to hear as a 18 year old kid and a hard as years went on. I understand the death is sad and it breaks a heart. There is a but to this story. But what about me and now my family? What about her grandchildren and eventually her great grandchildren? She just didn't really live in happiness or peace again. I share this short story because someone will read this that needs to move on. Don't stay stuck in the death of a loved one. Sure we miss them and we mourn them. BUT there are others that need to you be happy and share life again. See, there is something about the death of a person that takes a piece of our hearts. It's okay, but it's okay to smile, laugh and purpose time with others that love us.
I would like to think of the star as Jesus. A shinning moment and forever in my heart. Just like the one stent that lives inside of me. Had I not had it, I might not be here now. God gives doctors wisdom to heal us through medication. God gives us wisdom to allow God to heal those broken places of our emotions too. Death is real but so is life. Choose to live in this day the best you can. Press through mourning and allow yourself to live again. I might not ever know who reads this or needs this, but God does. I felt to share it today.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
