Psalm 51:1 (NIV)
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
BEGINNING ~ THE END
It happens to each of us in many different ways. One way is to forget the past and press forward. God wants to know he is doing a new thing within us. Our outlook on life should be different after we have surrender our hearts to God. I have found that surrender means different things to different people. God only wants us to ask forgiveness of sin and start again. There are no judgement calls by God but a new beginnings. Let the past go and press onto the now of life.
Isaiah 43:18-19 New International Version (NIV)
18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
Ephesians 4:22-24 New International Version (NIV)
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self,which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
It is good to read the Bible and learn to plant scriptures within your heart. We must forget somethings in life and reach out again by faith. Trusting God with all our hearts. A new day brings new beginnings and a way to challenge ourselves to become stronger in God. Living by faith is easy to say but much harder to do at times of life. There are things we want in life and we pray hard to receive them. Somethings that things just don't happen the way we think but down the road of life, it all comes together. Keep a firm trust in God is important.
There is much to be said to dwell on the past. When we think of negative things or hurtful things, we can become sad. Sadness turns to depression and before we know it, we are stuck in a painful spots. It's not to late to change your mind and turn your thoughts to God. Allowing him freedom to mold us. People can hold you back if your now careful in life. People remember your mistakes and your sins, but not God. That's where a new beginning comes in and your must forgive yourself too. Not everyone is in the place today, but each of us can thank God for a new day and the favor upon our lives.
Never compare your life to anyone. Yesterday I heard words of someone that was good. She spoke of my life over Facebook and how my example of being a grandmother shows. When her kids grow up, she wants to be a good grandmother and have fun. I never thought of how people totally watched this past summer of my life. It was one of the best summer's ever. I had family who paid for vacations for my husband and I. We saw how God blesses our lives through being parents and grandparents. We do our best to help out when we can and be available to play. We are retired now and we have time.
Seasons of life come and go. Terry and I were once younger, then parents and now grandparents. Nobody knows the depth of our lives but God. Yet, Terry and I know so much about each other. Through many trails, tears, sorrows, disappointments and trusting God, came God's plan. Had we never lost our home in Pinole and moved to Vallejo, we might not have met the people we know now. Our own choices are more valuable than we might realize. Let God lead your life and make good choices. Speak words of encouragement to yourself and not regrets.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
