Tracy needed medication that would require her not to breastfeed her baby. She would not be able to see her for a few days while in the hospital. She could not hold anything over 5 pounds for a while. Tracy would come home and need much help. The room had to be dark because of her eyes. The depth of her pain could not be measure and pain medication didn't seem to help.
THE DARK ROOM ~
The dark room is where I began to pray daily and ask God for a miracle of health for my daughter. It was the dark room that brought me to my knees and challenged my faith. As weeks went by, the room was still dark. Weeks turn into a month and a little light could come in but not much. I believe that God hears our tears and grows us as situations happen to us. Nobody could predict this would happen to Tracy. Our family jumped into help her and we saw the love we had for each other. It would stronger than glue and the key factor to it all was JESUS. We learned to take one day at a time and give God thanks even though it was hard to do that. Seasons of life change us and we become stronger or defeated. We choose to become stronger and live this scripture:
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
It's almost one year since this happen now and we can see God at work. Tracy is healthy and wants to celebrate her daughter's first birthday in Disneyland. Some family is going too and it's not just about Averie, but about Tracy too. Some family can not come and that makes us sad. We went through the dark room life, to live in the light of how God answered our prayers. Miracles still happen and I've seen too much to doubt the power of God. The Bibles says to rejoice and we are so going to rejoice on vacation. The room is no longer dark and shine with victory of life.
Family means different things to each of us. My family means love, caring, sharing and through all the hurts of life, we stick together. When one of us is happy, we rejoice with them. If one of us is sad, we pray for them. Yes, moments of frustrations and needing a little space, but going back together just fine. We are human and humans are all different. That is what makes us such a good family. We know the head of our lives is God and we continue to learn how to become better humans.
God works in different ways and we thank God for Tracy's life. I don't call it luck that we have, but we have JESUS who answers us. Last summer, I spent two months at Tracy's house helping and praying. I saw a daughter who wanted to be a mom and take care of her baby. She lost time with Averie because of this and there is a bigger picture of life. My daughter couldn't do a lot for herself and needed the help of her husband and extended family plus friends help too. I could never thank everyone who prayed and held on with us. We are so grateful that last summer is over and this summer has arrived. New beginnings and off to vacation for a few days.
The dark room is gone and sunshine is ahead for us in Southern California. God, thank you for this summer and the all you have brought our family through in life. We give you praise and our hearts are excited to celebrate the life with family.
The things that are important in life are not found in material things. They are found in life, time and sharing experiences together. God has given us people who surround us in different ways. Don't forget to text someone if they come to your mind. Don't wait for someone to contact you because you can contact them. Share Jesus and daily life with the JOY of the Lord.
My prayers continue for each of you, your family and friends.
