If it had never rains, we wouldn't see the beauty of a rainbow. Things happen in our lives that brings change and we can see good from it. Let me share the story of Noah and his promise with God and then I'll share more.
Genesis 9 New International Version (NIV)
God’s Covenant With Noah
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
2 The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
4 “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. 5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
6 “Whoever sheds human blood,
by humans shall their blood be shed;
for in the image of God
has God made mankind.
7 As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”
8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 “I now establish my covenant with youand with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
THE BEAUTY OF A RAINBOW ~
A sudden reminder of God's promise and the covenant he made with Noah.
Noah was a man who stepped out by faith and listen to God. He did what God called him to do and his family stood with him. Maybe they didn't understand everything, but they understood to listen to God and Noah. Noah obeyed and his testimony continues generations later. I'm am so thankful for men and women who listen to God and just do it.
I know that God has given me a gift to write. As I begin to type, I feel words just flow through my fingers. I can only image what Noah's family thought when he began to tell them to help him build the ark and they had never saw rain before this time. They trusted and believe Noah. I write this now and I believe that God has something in store for your life too. Don't stop believing in miracles or what God has promised you. Maybe you don't see it now, but it's on it's way. God's word is true and amen.
I know that God has promised me things as well. I do my daily blog, but I know it's much greater than that. I am thankful for the people who encourage me to write and want to see a book I write. I would ask today that your pray for me, as I pray for you. Knowing what God has called you to and doing it, is sometimes harder than it might think. I'm not sure what I wait or pull back, but I can't do that anymore. I need to write for several reasons. I know it will bring freedom to many lives not because of me, but the words written that are true. After all, the rainbow is a promise of God not to flood the earth again and much more. It's a reminder that Noah said yes to God and his family helped.
I thank God for your life and your time in reading this. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. I don't know what God has called you to do, but do it. Stand strong in your faith and press forward.
