Throughout our lives, we will face things that test us. Just like Hebrews 6:19 speaks about anchor for our soul. We are be firm in the word of God and secure. If you look at the boat that has an anchor, it holds the boat from drifting away. God has given us an anchor in him.
THE ANCHOR HOLDS ~
Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
THE ANCHOR HOLDS ~
Lean not on your own understanding
I can picture a boat in the middle of the water. Big waves come and the boat is tossed around a bit, but the anchor holds. There is nothing we can do about the waves, but if we stay within the boat, we are secure. There will be a time to pull up that anchor. Still knowing there is a time to stay still and a time to go forward. In reading the Bible, I find so many stories of people who pressed through things and came out victorious. I also find stories of people who just stopped and turned away from the truth.
Let's talk real today ~
There are some situations we are faced with that makes us want to pull up that anchor and run. Run away from everything and everybody. Life can be hard, but if we can just stop and think before we react. Let us remind ourselves that the devil is real and wants us to stop believing. God continues to be a promise keeper. God must be our anchor in all times.
There are so many great things in one day that we just look over. Maybe it just getting out of bed, running water within our homes, heaters so we are cold and air conditioners so we are not hot. The list goes on and everyday I thank God I can type again. I got hurt years ago and couldn't type. My hands were hurts and my fingers wouldn't move much. It was hard for me to do anything. But I had a friend (Vicki) would typed out my blog daily for me. She stepped in, when I couldn't do it myself. God knows exactly how to help us.
My anchor of life was holding on for a miracle in my hands and fingers. I believed and I had others believing too. My hands still hurt today, but I don't focus on the pain, I focus on the fact that my fingers can type again. I have learned a new way of holding things and dealing with life issues. My anchor in God holds and I stand firm in faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God the Bible says. So much to gain and so much to get through in one day. The fact is, God is big enough to create us and big enough to keep us in the right place.
GOD ~ ANCHOR
Romans 10:13 New International Version (NIV)13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Safe within the boat of life and safe within your mind. Keep your mind purpose on good things and courage to face other things. One day brings a mixture of smiles and sorrows, yet the hope of greater things ahead. I've seen too many miracles to doubt the power of God and his plan. As his plan unfolds for my life, I feel his amazing peace within my mind and heart. God is a promise keeper and I hold tight to that. In times I can't do things myself or hold on for myself, I have family and friends who are right there with me. I have solid family and friends who care, pray and seek the will of God. I do turn it back to prayer, seeking and knowing that God is able to do this for them.
What ever you face today, face it with courage and knowing that God's plan unfolds perfect. As you surrender your will to God's will, he is able to hand it. Letting go and letting God is a huge step for all us. After all, some of us are fixers and we want to fix the problem. Often times it just takes releasing the problem or situation to God and allow faith to arise.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
Let your anchor hold in God!
