As we wake up today, let us remember to give thanks! It's not just another day but a day set aside to celebrate with family and friends. There are many people who continue to work and are needed are their jobs today. I woke up thinking about Police Officers, Firemen/women, Doctors, Nurses, Helps in all areas of life. Let me not forget to mention the men/women who serve our country in so many ways. Their sacrifices go far beyond what any of us know. I appreciate their sacrifices of not only themselves but their family/friends. Throughout today, say prayers for others.
Giving thanks for the time we had with loved ones who rest in Heaven. You might have a missing person at your Thanksgiving Table this year. It's certainly not easy, but life continues to move forward. Maybe it isn't one year but several years. Memories are such a blessing but also can bring you to a place of sorrow. Do your best today to look around and know that only God can fill a void in your life. You will always miss the person, but you learn to do your best through holidays.
1 Chronicles 16:34-36 (NIV)
34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
35 Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior;
gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name,
and glory in your praise.”
36 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the Lord.”
THE LOVE OF GOD ~ IS EVERLASTING
Finding myself at new place in life. I remember complaining about cooking a turkey and all the stuff and it would never be right for my mom. I tried hard every year and my focus became wrong. I didn't see the blessing in front of me, I saw the struggle of trying to make someone else happy. As I have gotten older, I see that only God can make someone happy through their own choices. Now she rest in Heaven and I miss that little lady. Her favorite foods on a Thanksgiving Day and family around my table. My table has changed now and life moves forward. We will share the day with our daughter, her husband and family. We did the same thing last year and it was fun.
Life does change and it does change us. Let us just count some blessings of life today. Also show kindness and appreciate the freedom we have in America. Giving honor to those who serve, giving thanks God who protects and leads us into this new day of hope.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Not everybody holiday season is hard and I give thanks for that. Others share harder things and health issues. My prayers truly are with you (readers of my blog). I am thankful for you who read this. I truly care!
