A game with several people and each one it's own position.
DICTIONARY ~ Baseball
A game of ball between two nine-player teams played usually for nine innings on a field that has as a focal point a diamond-shaped infield with a home plate and three other bases, 90 feet (27 meters) apart, forming a circuit that must be completed by a baserunner in order to score, the central offensive action entailing hitting of a pitched ball with a wooden or metal bat and running of the bases, the winner being the team scoring the most runs.
It is also a seasonal game, but much planning and practice comes into play.
As I was watching the Giants and Dodgers play yesterday, I saw how eager the people in the stands were. The batter was there, the pitcher was ready and there it was, a home run by a Giants player. People would stand up and scream. A moment of excitement and now onto the next player. The score changed in a moments time. Just a couple batters later, yet another home run and the score is tied. Excitement totally fills the hearts of many. The Giants would win the game! There will be other times, that they will loose the game, but continue training and doing their best.
We can take the example of baseball into our own spiritual lives. Each one of us hold a special position in the kingdom of God and we must hold our positions. 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NIV) Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
WE ARE A TEAM ~
We grow daily and learn of the ways of God. We are different for a reasons. We were not meant to do the same position of a team. Each one holds it's own purpose and plan by God. Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, A promise and A future. God wants you to know you are important. Your life wasn't just created, but created for a much larger plan.
Just like in baseball, it takes more than one player and each one holds a important position. There are others waiting on the bench that will come in, when needed. Our lives are surround by team players. There are also people who sit in the stands and cheer the team on.
In each of our lives there are people who cheer us on too. I was teaching a few weeks ago and I mention the importance of each of us. Let us see where God wants to use our lives and allow him the freedom to do so. Taking on victories we never imagine and living in purpose. Just yesterday, my friend Sonia brought a man to church who was 80 years old. He was so happy just to be there. She reached out and we will never know the depth of this day for him. A good thing and smiles make a difference.
As we continue on the team of God, we do win and God plan continues to unfold to each of us. Surrender your mind, your heart and soul to God. You are important and your life matters. Read the Bible, study and listen to music that helps your soul. Go into training and count blessings of your life. There will be hard days and those days don't forget to reach out to God in prayer, plus reaching out to a faithful friend. We don't have to run this race of life alone and taking a deep breath often helps. Continue to tell yourself you can this day and watch God connect your life to others.
1 Corinthians 9:24 ~
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Keep the faith and keep pressing forward. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Let us not forget in Baseball, there are a lot of behind the scene people who are helping the team press forward. In our own lives, there are behind the scene people who continue to believe in us and God is working things out. Purpose this a good day!
