Genesis 1:9-10 New International Version (NIV)
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
MY THOUGHTS ~
I saw this picture of this child looking over the water. Surf board in hand and sand between the toes. A sudden reminder of how quickly thing can change in our lives. The calm upon the sand and each wave bringing it's own power.
SURFS UP ~
Life is a fine mixture of many waves coming in and many waves going out!
13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
Moses only had to do what God said to him. He had the answer in his hand. The staff became a tool to divide the water so the Israelites could go through it on dry ground. Think about it, dry ground came after the sea separated! Wow, that's a powerful God to separate to dry land. Think about yourself right now, what is in your hand and you have the power through God to change. I am sitting here crying and realizing I have more ability to change things than I realize. How about you today?
WHAT IS IN YOUR HANDS?
THoughts, decisions, facing things you want to face and facing things you don't want to face. Yet, the power the moves the waves and gives us ability to make right decisions is with us now. God is real and his remains the same. He moves the waves, he moves the wind and there will be things we see. We can feel God in our lives and we can push him away. He only wants the best for each of us and our choices matter my friend, our choices matter!
I love the beach because I can see the power of God through waves. I can recall a time of life that it almost took my life and my family. Waves of Cabo and a sudden huge wave that over took the sand and our bodies. It was there that I said yes to God in teaching. If I had only a second change, I would teach and lead. I came back in 2004 to teach and co-lead women at our church. It was my decision to say yes to God. What is God asking you to do today that you just keep putting off? Maybe today is your second chance and you only need to say yes to God.
I will be totally honest with needed another chance. I know that God has also called me to write but I feel that I'm not good enough. I recall words that were said to me as a child and even an adult. Even as I write this blog, I have people who comment on my words and style. It doesn't matter to me what everything thinks today, it matters what God says. I know that my blog reaches as least one person who take the time to read it. It might not even be you, but you pass it to a friend who needs it today. We grow in life because of our situations and relate to others. God connects lives for purpose and his plan begins to unfold.
Just like the big wave, life brings changes to our lives.
Some change is so great and other change can bring sorrow to us. Walking around this city with a smile but a broken inside. You might feel that nobody understands or can see the inside of you. I've been there and I've been so broken. Yet, the super glue of God remains the same. It takes time to restore, time to deal with our new normals and time for change. The changes in my life allow me to grow better or bitter. I say that often, but I mean it from the middle of my heart.
Lets go back to Moses for a minute. I don't know what he thought or he felt at the sea. I know he must have looked over it because he questioned God. Then God clearly said to stretch out what is in your hand. The sea parted and the story continues to be an influence on life. Today is your day, stretch out your hand and allow God freedom to lead you. Freedom into right choices and freedom to feel the peace that God gives. Maybe Moses felt a little scared as he crossed the water, but maybe he felt total peace. A trust in God is not measure by everybody but the people crossing the water trusted Moses to lead in most cases. Other cases they doubted Moses. Moses knew who lead him ~ GOD.
My prayers for you, your family and friends continue. Please allow God to lead your thoughts and conversations today. God's power reminds the same. God wants us to get through today by faith in knowing he has this. This being whatever you face!
