SUDDEN THINGS HAPPEN ~
We don't have to go through life alone
God places people in our path for a purpose. I have gone through some very hard things in life and can look back to see how God was there. I might have felt alone during some of my own mistakes, but God never left me. It was I who chose to become bitter over somethings and that got me into sadness. It was when I began to pray for God to change my heart. Sudden things in life I allow to grow bitter inside of me. God's plan was never to stop me, but my choice was to grow from it.
It's hard to grow in God when you don't really know him. I was 18 years old when my dad suddenly died of a heart attack inside our home. It was in those teenage years that I grew bitter and yet God sent my husband into my life less than a year later. I didn't know he would be my husband, but just a teenager who was different. A guy who carried a Bible and spoke about the love of God. What could this mean? Life would move forward and I would become curious about what he said about God. Look at me now, over 40 years and we are still together. I wish I could say I trusted God in all those years, but that answer is no. I had more heartbreak, disappointments and I stopped going to church. Fast forward this story a bit and I would go back to church almost a year later. I am here to tell you that words hurt, destroy and only God has mend a broken heart. Yet, my decision mattered to say yes to God.
My question to you today, have you said yes to God? Following his plan for your life is amazing. Sure there will still be ups and downs but only God can answer some of your prayers. When SUDDEN THINGS HAPPEN, turn to God. Turn to a friend also that will listen and just be there for you. They might not know what to say, but a physical person in our lives is such a help.
Psalm 18:28 New International Version (NIV)28 You, Lord, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light.
Thank you for taking time to read this. There is a peace beyond a human understanding when we live in God. That secret place that only he knows about inside of us and he does want the desires of our hearts to be met. It has taken time, years to become who I am today. I am stronger than yesterday and choose to live my life for God daily. I'm not a super Christian, but a person who makes mistakes, learns to forgive and gets back up again.
God, today I pray for the readers of my blog for courage. Courage to face the hard stuff in life and to learn to lean on you in all things. It's not easy being human at times. We forget that you sent your son Jesus for each of us. We forget to give thanks for everyday of life because you have purpose a new day for us. Maybe not everybody forgets, but I sometimes forget to count blessings in the season of change. New normals are not easy at times and we miss loved ones who are not here anymore. I can look out my window and see change everyday in the sky. A sudden remind of who is in charge of life and this day. Help those who need a financial blessing because of a sudden change, a place to live because of a sudden change, health because of a sudden change and the list goes on. God meet the readers of my blog exactly where they are today and help. Thank you God for another day and molding us into better people and not bitter. AMEN
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
