2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
STRESSED OVER LITTLE THINGS ~
Trials of various kinds, but how to you count it joy?
I was thinking about how little things of life have stressed me out lately. I feel a little anxious over things that never bothered me before. I think part of it is because I took my eyes off of God and try to figure things out myself. I was thinking to far ahead and not living in today. Who said I can do life alone anyway? I feel alone at times. I need the Lord and I need his holy spirit to guide me in simple things of life too. Let me work on counting things joy today. This is true according to verse 2 above. I have found that when stressful things come, to stop and breathe. There are also times when I decide to call a friend and just talk. Sometimes sharing helps too and you actually feel better.
We are living out a real life pandemic that has changed everything in our normal lives. No matter what state you live in right now, you are facing the virus of 2020. People continue to be stressed and scared over what a new day will bring. People continue to die and get sick from this virus. Yet, many are staying well and following the rules of their State. While others are going out and not worried about getting the virus at all. This is all new to us and lives have changed . People are loosing their jobs, homes, cars and lack of food. Large and small businesses are closing for good. How can we not be stressed a little? Yet, are we keeping our eyes of God? Are we trusting the process or consumed by worry? Worry never gets us anywhere but feeling bad inside. It can affect our physical health too.
Putting your trust in the Lord will sure help. Yes, you might still get stressed but we quickly learn to turn from stress to peace. For example, yesterday I actually spoke to myself. I knew I need to take a walk, let somethings go and refocus on the truth. In the natural eye, things do look back and are back. Yet, God gives us hope, peace and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, a promise and a future. This scripture holds true for each of us who believe in God. Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the power of God was revealed in a moment of time.
New International Version39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
As God did this sudden act of the waves, he can stop sudden things in our lives too. Let us not forget the God who created the earth, heavens and each of us, can handle our now just fine. I know what it feels like not to have food, worried about paying bills and the stress of everyday life of a hurt husband, no job and trying to live. I pray daily for those who don't have food and need help during this pandemic. I pray for a miracle cure of this virus and help for each of you who read this. Life is so short and we need a miracle in our land too. God help us to become better humans and treat people with respect plus kindness. Nobody is perfect, but we certainly can work on ourselves this day and every day.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Do your best to make smiles and be happy. Do your best to reach out to someone else too. Living life in shelter in place is hard and many people feel lonely. Even people who have others around them, can feel lonely. Don't let the stress of things overcome you. Try to count it joy and know that God is able, plus he will answer your prayers.
