Psalms 42:1-2 (NIV)
1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
The question in this scripture is where can I go and meet with God? Speaking in the year 2018, we can just talk to him. He is everywhere and ready to talk to us. It's hard for some people to believe in God because they can't see him. He has left he word of God (Bible) to reflect the past, the present and speaks of the future. It is a roadmap to daily life and to Heaven. Talk to God is just like talking to a friend. You just know he is there and listen.
What happens in the days you can't hear back from God? Maybe you have prayed and that prayer doesn't get answered the way you thought. Life changes and we are left with wonder. I have been in places where I wondered if God heard me and yet deep down I knew God was there. Before I knew God, I didn't know a lot about his word or his promises. I didn't really know to seek him with all my heart. I had to begin a process of reading the Bible for myself and praying daily to him. Giving him thanks for what I did have in life and I could honestly see why some of my prayers did not get answered.
The way of the Lord is different than we think sometimes in life. Our own decisions can move us onto a different path of life but don't forget God is still there. Through my own mistakes I have went through consequences of change and I had to go through moment of letting go what I couldn't change. If you look at me now, I appear to be strong, confident and happy. Behind those scenes of life, I am a woman who need to pray daily, seek God with all my heart and press through things I really don't understand. I guess I'm just saying I am human and I value the gifts God has given me in life. I may not be where I thought I would be in my 60's but I am certainly stronger than I ever thought I could be through the help of God.
The Bible speaks of leaning not to your own understanding and that's so important. God's way are good and just. Forgiving others is must in our life but we don't need to make them our best friend. We can forgive and more on. God forgives each of us for mistakes, sins and short comings in life. It becomes time to forgive yourself and just move on.
Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Just as the deer goes toward the water, so should you. Go after the living God who gives living water to each of us. Lean to him and trust him in all things. Purpose this a good day and count some blessings as where you are in life. A new day is here, new thoughts and new doors of opportunities. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
