As our world experiences shelter in place in many areas, many are growing tired of this season. I posted a picture of me standing in front of my church and smiling. This was taken last summer. I have gone to Hillside Christian Church in Napa for over 18 years and I never thought once, that would be a time I couldn't drive onto this property for a service or special event. Our Pastor is honoring the request of our Governor and no church services. Social distancing is happening and we have online services. I am so proud of our Pastor and his leadership.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will callon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
We must lean on God and not our own understanding. Trusting the process of our government and protecting ourselves the best we can. A complete life change for so many people around the world. This didn't catch God off guard, HE continues to guide lives. I do find God faithful in all seasons of life. I have stirred up my faith, trust and purpose to live one day at a time right now.
I am co-leading a Bible Study with Gloria on Wednesday nights. It is titled, "Finding God Faithful" by Kelly Minter. I would highly recommend this study. There is a online offer free right now. It is at Lifeway.com and type in Finding God Faithful Video. Follow the links and it connects you. Such an amazing study of how one person made such a difference in lives. Joseph was a teenager when his life began to change. He went through so very hard times and even betrayal of his brothers. God gave Joseph a dream and he saw his dream comes to pass. You can read his story in the Bible.
God created you for a greater purpose too. A new day brings hope and another chance to make a difference. You might not see how you can make a difference in these times, but you can. It is amazing how a simple text message can make me smile. Someone who cares, shows it. I am glad that God stays with us and is not the building. Open your Bible, begin to read scriptures of hope and promises.
Matthew 6:30-34 English Standard Version (ESV)
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. I am so looking forward to going to Church again and seeing my church family/friends. Until that day, I will do my best to stay connected to many by phone, Facebook, text or zoom. If this had to happen to our world, I am glad it wasn't when I was a kid. There was no internet and only a phone call. Counting blessings of a new day.
