Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
CARVED TO PROFECTION ~
The month is October and Halloween is less than one week away. Many people get pumpkins and carve them. When I saw this picture of Mickey Mouse it made my face smile. It not only reminds me of Disneyland and a happy place, but inside a carved pumpkin is a light. A light that shines through the opening that were carved. A happy face lights up as the candle or light shines within it. Totally giving me a happy picture of how Jesus comes within our hearts and shines through our eyes!
Through our eyes are the windows to our soul. We show expressions of joy and sorrow through them. We can feel the love of God deep within us and how we show it through our lives matter. My reactions can be that of joy, sorrow or even a mixture of both. I feel like a pumpkin at times. A bit round with the love of God and yet carved by situations of life. Leaving me with smile that only God can give. Through it all, I've learned to trust in God.
PROFECTION ~ Psalm 119:96 NIV To all perfection I see a limit,
but your commands are boundless.
SEASONS OF CHANGE ~
Through each season of life, we need God. There will be times when we need to remind ourselves of his goodness. Life can be hard and feel either cut to pieces, not carved at all or just the beginning of something greater. So much changes us from the inside out. Time of lack of things, overwhelmed with change or maybe just the peace of it all happens. Together, we learn and go in God. Together we share real life and we know that only God gives peace in the middle of change. The Lord said ~
Exodus 33:19-23 NIV
19 And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 20 But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”
21 Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.23 Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”
CARVED TO PROFECTION ~
God's word gives hopes and peace. There are no perfect people but we each can learn daily through situations of life. Trusting the Lord that he has carved our lives into his plan. The end of life will be the beginning of living forever in Heaven. Until then, we live in our now and we prosper as our souls prospers. Don't forget to live in today, count some blessings and share a little hope with someone. Even a stranger can enjoy a smile. We just never know what one life goes through in one day.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends!
