who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither--
whatever they do prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
Be careful in seeing what separates you from the Lord. I had times of life I listen to the wrong advice. I thought at the time it was right but later found out I was wrong. It took me down a path I didn't like and never felt peace in. There is something about feeling the peace of God in your life. Doing what is right, is just always right. We are human and there are times we must figure things out. What might be simple to see from someone else's eyes, isn't always easy to see from our own eyes. That's where prayer, wisdom and keeping a good watch over your own life is important.
Hold onto these verses above:
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither--
whatever they do prospers.
As life moves forward, I see the value in delighting myself in God everyday. Making the best happen and leaning not toward my own understanding on things. God has a plan and if you truly want his will, you will seek him. There have been times when I said I wanted his will but I did not really. I wanted what I wanted and God gives us free will. Oh how that free will can get us off track of God. Yet, God in all his goodness can turn our mess ups of life into new beginnings. Starting over with right thinking and seeking him daily. Often in my younger years, I found myself seeking God when I wanted something. God wants us to seek him in all seasons of life. One season can bring us so much joy and others can brings sadness, sorrows and the great unknown.
Ephesians 3:20-21 New King James Version (NKJV)20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
GOD IS ABLE ~ IN ALL SEASONS OF LIFE
I have learned that life teaches us things. Things to do and not to do. Places to go and not to go. Friends who are real and others who just want from you. Be careful and guard your heart. The Bible says your heart is the well spring of life. Take each day as a valuable day and count blessings of what you do have. I say this often because I need to tell myself this daily. God is able and I know this. God has done miracles in my life, my family and friends lives too. I write from the middle of my heart because I care and want to share some hope in a new day.
I know that some seasons are just terrible. Let the light of God can shine within your heart and begin again. I've been broken, done and never thought I would enter a church again. I attend a healthy church in Napa. Hillside Christian Church on 100 Anderson Road brought new life to me over 17 years ago. Each service and meeting new people have brought me to this day. One day adds to another and I have met so many amazing people. Friends who still attend, others that moved away, some who now attend other churches or some who decided not to go to church. Yes, seasons of life for people but I know that God draws us back to him by his spirit. I was once broken and each day I choose to believe big again. Surround yourself by people who are positive, good for you and lift you up. Too many people can put us down for things, but God is a lifter of the spirit. He is a joy unto my soul and forever I will be grateful for restoring my broken self.
I hope today you will see yourself the way God does and press in to a season of loving him forever. A changed mind can do wonders. A changed heart can let people back in again. A new view of life can help each of us. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Seasons are good, but God remains the same forever!
