Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
JOY OF THE LORD ~
The joy of the Lord is your strength....
There is something about having joy in your heart and mind. It carries us through seasons of change. I was thinking about my mom yesterday and I realize how much her life changed on one day. She went from living by herself in an apartment, to moving into a care home and not being able to walk. She didn't use her walker and fell on the ground. She ended up with a broken hip and living her life from a wheel chair. I wish I had another chance to hug her and just say, "I love you".
I feel like I let her down at times. She was in the care home almost one year and she asked me to pray that she wouldn't be there another Christmas, so I did. She went to Heaven in November of that next year and her prayer requested was answered. I know she found her peace and joy after her death, but it was hard for her on earth. I found out that she went about teaching faith in the care home and encouraging others. I didn't know that she brought joy to some people there.
SCHEDULE IT ~
Time with people you care about
I find it important to schedule time with God. Purpose to press forward everyday of life and living it to the fullest. Sometimes we must live in our now and count blessings of that. Sometimes our now is crazy hard, but God is still able to change things in one day. After all, he created us and we must see how far he has brought our lives in this day.
Philippians 3:14-15 King James Version (KJV)
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
SCHEDULE IT ~
Scripture time, pray time, praise time and giving thanks.....
Psalm 94:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up.
I told you the story of my mom because I felt it needed to be shared. Things will happen suddenly and we begin to live with new normals. Things we never wanted to see happen but they happen anyway. We learn to help people where they are at and share encouragement. I was talking with someone yesterday and their words were this, "I didn't want to bother you". Such a crazy thought because people who are going through things need you then, not later. They need encouragement of text message, a card, letter or just a quick phone call. Leaving a message of this,"I am thinking of you today". Just a quick and easy statement letting others knows you truly care about them. Sometimes people go through things and we aren't able to help, but sending a message is help.
My prayers continue today for you, your family and friends. Remember seasons of life pass as if it were Summer, Winter, Spring or Fall. Within all those seasons are ups, downs and mixture of both. This too shall pass and we will see God's little miracles throughout our lives. Each day is a new beginning and another chance to make a difference in someone's life. Go ahead and look into the mirror and see yourself stronger than ever! Just knowing God has brought you to my webpage to share you he cares about you too! Purpose this a good day.
