God has a way of changing our lives through scars. Scars are reminders of things that happen to us. Scars left can make us or break us too. Let us remind ourselves that were are strong, brave, fearless and never alone with God.
Isaiah 41:10 New International Version (NIV)
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Dictionary ~ Physical Scars
a mark left on the skin or within body tissue where a wound, burn, or sore has not healed completely and fibrous connective tissue has developed.
One Scar ~
I have a small scar on my left arm. I don't notice it most days, but when I do, I am reminded of how God rescued me and others out of the waters of Cabo. We were walking alone a beach and a suddenly wave came up to cover us. I can not swim and my husband was holding onto me tight. I never thought I would get out of the water of Cabo, but it was there that I say yes to God in using my life different. I had enough time to say if I had another chance, I would teach and write. So here I am today, reminded by a tiny scars of a big God.
Scars ~ Emotionally
Negative things happen to all of us at certain times of life. Some people go through some deep emotional scars. As life begins for us, we are challenged to live in a world that continues to change. Some of that change is great and other change is not so good. Words are powerful and they can kill or lift us up. The Bible says:
John 10:10 New International Version (NIV)
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Emotions are very real. The devil wants us to not believe and put fear into our hearts. God says that he has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind ~ 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
Through emotions, we must remind ourselves that we are not stuck in that moment of life. We grow older and grow wiser in years passing by. Speaking up for one's self can be extremely hard. I've heard women say this, "but I am not you and I am not.......". God didn't create us to be the same, but to be encouragers and an overcomer of all things. We learn from each other, we grow from each other and we learn to balance out our lives. Thinking positive is a good thing and yet negative can come rushing in. Casting away negative in our lives whether emotional or physical can take time. If you want to make a change in your life, it takes you taking another step today toward God.
If you are in a deeper emotional situation, you can always reach out to get help. There are many resources that help hurting people and even speaking to one friend helps. Since we have the internet, we can also google how to get help. If you know someone who needs help, figure out how to find the resources they need. When someone is depressed or sad, they don't always know how to get out of where they are in life. Finding a good church and talking with a Pastor is a key way too. If you don't have a home church and live close to Napa Ca, I would like to invite you to mine. Hillside Christian Church 100 Anderson Road, Napa, CA.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Be reminded that the scar was never put into your life to stop you, but to press forward. Your story will make a difference in someone else life too. Maybe you are not ready today to talk about it, but inside you is courage and strength to conquer all things through Christ. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
