Isaiah 53:4-6 English Standard Version (ESV)
4 Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
SATURDAY BEFORE EASTER ~
Sunday is coming!
The excitement of kids waiting for the Easter Bunny to deliver gifts, baskets and candy. The excitement for many who believe in Jesus and knowing he died, but came alive. This special day is called, "Easter". A family and friends time of sharing this special day and yet life has changed for all of us. We are right in the middle of a pandemic, shelter in place for many of us and churches are closed. Finding online services from many churches happening. Coming together online and having Zoom calls. Sharing Facebook or iPhone calls so we can see each other. Maybe one text message brightens your day. We need each other and that is the truth.
Proverbs 18:20-21 New International Version (NIV)
20 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.
21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
SATURDAY BEFORE EASTER ~
Stepping back a moment to give thanks to God for life. He created you for a purpose and you can live out the best life ever. It might seems like life is out of our control, but it never was in our control. God is the created and controller of all things. Yet, free will gets in the way at times and we do live under a government that can make decisions for us. Let us not forget that God is still God and take this virus away as fast as it came. I am trusting God that is is able to handle this day just fine and I'll do my part for shelter in place. I find it gets harder each day, but I think about the many doctors, nurses and hospital staff who are tired. I think about people who work at stores or essential businesses. Life can be difficult to understand at times and yet you hear of so many working hard. I give God praise for lives that helps others and doing my part by staying home, praying plus reaching out to others.
Let us think of what tomorrow is about for us. A redeemer comes to give us new life! A friend who stickers closer than anyone. His name is JESUS and his father is God. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Purpose this weekend a blessed one and count those blessings of life. We still have free will and can think of great things. If you don't have a home church, then find one online tomorrow to celebrate Easter. You can always watch my church at Hillside Christian Church in Napa, Ca. We have a worship time and Pastor teaches.
