I heard a story of a man who walked this earth so long ago and went about doing good. He would be used to do the impossible in people's lives. A blind man would see and a man who was lame could walk. True miracles that only God could perform through Jesus. Jesus picked twelve men who would be called disciplines to join his team. Each one came from a different walk of life. All were human and began to learn a new way of living. Then one day, the men felt fear of high waters and called upon the name of Jesus. Read on:
Matthew 14:22-33 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Walks on the Water
Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
RUN WITH PATIENCE ~
What you are facing today that you need Jesus to come quickly? Just like Jesus told the disciples, he is telling us. Do not fear and trust the Lord with all your heart. Sure somethings will seem so big and it's hard at times. It has been in the hard times of life that I've seen Jesus come to my rescue too. I've seen too many things to doubt the power of God. I do my best daily to run this race of life with patience and faith. I hope this story of Jesus walking on the water helps you to hold on tighter in your times of need. Jesus never leaves us.
Romans 12:1-2 speaks about laying aside every weight and sin that happens. One thought leads to another thoughts and we must purpose good thoughts. Allow God to lead the way and keep your mind stayed on him and good thing so life. I can choose to count blessings throughout my day and not focus on the things that are hard. Being an overcomer of my own thoughts and knowing the truth that Jesus is still right here for me. I hope you can too.
My prayers continue for the readers of my blog, your family and friends.
