And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
ROOTED IN LOVE ~
1 Corinthians 13 New International Version (NIV)
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues,they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
ROOTED IN LOVE ~
Time teaches us so much and learning to live in today matters.
I see the love of God around me and I've learn to process a new day with blessings from yesterdays. God is able to meet us exactly where we are at and our example matters so much. I saw this picture of the heart and it was written by mom to her great granddaughters Brookley and Willow. She created this heart and was so happy she did. She lived in a care home at the time and loved when they came to visit. However, she didn't always remember us, because happy to see us.
Love is action too. It's not just saying I love you, but showing it. I read over 1 Corinthian Chapter 13 and read about love. I continued to visit my mom and be the best daughter I could be. I learned not to expect her actions of love back at times. She was angry she was in a care home and angry about a lot of things. However, after she died, I learned that she talked about God and faith to the workers. I heard she was a great inspiration to them at times. It made me happy to hear this. The night before she died, she told me so many things I wished I had heard years before, but at least I did hear it. She thanked me for always staying by her and sorry about many things. I didn't realize she was that sick. I honestly thought she had a bad cold and would get better. She died the next day. I believe she made peace with God too.
I see the importance of being rooted in love by God. He directs our paths of life and connects our lives to others for purpose. I hope you root yourself in the Bible, positive words and live a happy life. Life is so short and we just never know what's next. Purpose time with those you love and share life. The one thing I know about roots, they go deep. Go deeper in God daily and give thanks for his love.
