Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.
Living kindness was deep within my heart even as a child. I remember being about ten years old and telling myself that when I grew up, I would teach others to be kind. Kindness is a word that goes right along with respect. I didn't grow up going to church every Sunday or even knowing much about God.
As I got older, I realized that not everyone showed kindness to others. I had a 4th grade teachers that spoke words to the class that made me cry. She told them that I couldn't spell and could someone help me. The kids laughed and so did she. It was a simple word but I had just forgot how to spell it. I look back to see that it was a moment for her, but a lifetime for me. I never wanted to raise my hand again to ask for help in class. Our adulthood is formed by our childhood in many ways. We hear things and either take them on or not. As an adult now, I see how this moment of life changed me to want to live kindness to others and not laugh because they can't spell a word.
I remember going home to tell my mom about this teacher. Talking to her made me feel even worse. I wanted her to go there and talk to her about her words to me. Instead, my mom said something like this, well you couldn't spell the word. It only affirmed to me that I wasn't dumb. Nobody said the dumb word but I took that thought pattern on. I then started using others words in place of words I couldn't spell. There was no internet then, spell check or easy way to learn words for me. Not all of us learn the same way or can carry a "A" in subjects in life.
Treat others the way you want to be treated
Life is so short. I am now 64 years old and I still remember that 4th grade teacher. That's just crazy to my brain. I am not dumb and there is always someone smarter. God has placed inside me compassion to others. Eyes to see what needs to be done and ears to hear others. I believe God has given us all gifts of life and we are to use them to help others. Living kindness and showing respect is a life choice.
Titus 3:4-7 New International Version (NIV)
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Live your best life now
Living our lives for God is such a joy. If we could only live each day to the fullest and enjoy our lives. My thoughts and prayers continue for you, you family and friends. Purpose this a good day. Purpose time around people who inspire you to become a better you. Each day I work on my own thoughts and actions of life. I have done somethings wrong, but I have certainly done many things right. Giving my life over to God was a great choice and I hope you have as well.
