OVER TIME ~
Life changes in many ways!
Joshua 1:9 New International Version
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
THINGS THAT CHANGE US ~
People who mistreat us, often stand out in our minds even years later. We work toward change a mindset or thoughts that might suddenly hit you. I heard from kids going to school, they were scared of being bullied or that nobody would talk to them. Trying to reach out is often hard because of ways we have been treated before. I remember being a kid and I felt so alone. I was that kid that stood by herself during break time and even lunch time. I had to learn over the years to find my voice but it took a very long time. It was not until middle school that my life started changing and friends really came into my life.
How about that first day of High School and having kids come from different middle schools to join one big high school? Wow moments for me, but I met amazing people. People who liked me and I started seeing myself different. Then life moves on and we tend to grow up fast. We look forward to that big graduation day and then college or getting a job. Life is full of changes and our attitude in it all can be a good one. Looking for peace in the middle of change. That is when my dad would go to Heaven when I was 18 years old and so hard for me to understand that change. I can remember that day as if it were today and that suddenly thought comes back a lot as I grow older.
Psalm 107:28-30 New International Version
28 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he brought them out of their distress.
29 He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea were hushed.
30 They were glad when it grew calm,
and he guided them to their desired haven.
God is the one we call out to on a daily bases. Giving him thanks for a new day and knowing that God can give peace in the changes of life that suddenly happen. We often face things that trouble us and then after it's done (like the first day of school), we feel a peace that it's done. I heard this from my 6 year old granddaughter. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I like my other classroom. I wonder how many of us can honestly say I like the way things used to be in life, but now I face this new normal? I certainly can in my life. Just a mixture of old and new which can make us think a bit too much.
Turning my thoughts to God ~
Then God turning his thoughts throughout the Bible
Psalm 139:17-18 New International Version
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand--
when I awake, I am still with you.
REMEMBER ~
JESUS LOVES YOU
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends! Purpose this a good day and count some blessings of life.
