Thanksgiving and Prayer
15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Thanksgiving and prayer goes together. Giving honor unto God for all things and allow ourselves to continue to grow. Church is a place of community where we can gather to praise God. The church can be called, "God's House". I love it when my kids come to my house and share time. I can only imagine how God loves it when we go to his house. We are his kids and called the children of God.
I got mixed messages about the church in younger years. It was a place where people said hurtful things and great expectations from me. I was told that women could no wear pants because only men could. I was told that I could not go to a movie because evil was there. I was told that I could only hang out with people who were christians. The lies continued in my life until one day, I realized all this was lies. It wasn't God's way at all and people can put expectations on you. It could have also been called a cult. A place that didn't speak the truth in all things and was called a church. We must be careful who we listen to, read the Bible for ourselves and learn the truth. It took years of wrong teaching to undo the wrong I was taught. Today, I live in freedom in God's word (Bible) and attend a health church that teaches the truth of the Bible.
I give thanks unto God each day of my life. Seeing the blessings that surround me and knowing that God brought me out of wrong thinking to the truth. Knowing the truth can set you free.
John 8:31-32 English Standard Version (ESV)
The Truth Will Set You Free
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Purpose time in reading the Bible and attending a church that teaches it. Remember that people are human and our feelings can get hurt at times. Take off the expectations of others and lean to God. Each of us should be growing and learning from wrong words of life or wrong decisions. Purpose a good day and count those blessings around you. See the beautiful sky of new beginnings and let the son shine inside of you. Nothing is too big for God and he brings of out of wrong things to improve our lives. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
