And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Read the story of Jesus calming the storm
Mark 4:35-41 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Calms the Storm
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
Who can calm the waters, but God. Who can calm the storms of life, but God. Only God can give peace in all circumstances of life. As we walk in faith, we find that God moves things around for us. What seems impossible, changes to possible. God works in different ways and at different times of life.
Verse 41 above:
They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
I want us to pray for those holding on for a miracle in their lives. Somethings are just hard and we need others to pray too. The same God who calm the winds and the waves, is the same today. That power is real and God can do anything. When we believe God can do anything, peace can come. I know there have been times of life when I couldn't see God at work, but he was. Even some of my unanswered prayers my way, was really his plan. A good Father must say no at times and we might not like it, but his peace comes to our hearts.
Down the road of life, I've seen God give peace to my soul.
My thoughts and prayers continue for the readers of my blog, your family and friends. I know that peace can rest in your mind today. Purpose this a good day.
