1 John 4:4 New International Version (NIV)
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
KEEP TRYING ~
You are an overcomer of all things. Don't forget that our determination makes a huge difference. It isn't always about praying you can do, but going out and knowing you can do it. Self confidence and determination go together at times in life. Willow could have said she was too scared to try again, but no she pressed forward. Maybe your big decision isn't riding a bike but other things. It takes that same attitude to press forward and facing that big obstacle of life.
Philippians 3:14-15 New International Version (NIV)14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Following Paul’s Example
15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
LOOKING FORWARD ~
God has a plan for each of our lives.
Our own decisions can determine our course of life. I look back to see how God has brought me through so much in life. I was only 32 years old when my brother died on Christmas Day from cancer. That changed me from the inside out and not in a positive way. I seem to loose my hope in God and my focus was turned to frustration because of others. Some church friends were visiting the hospital and I walked in to here them talking about wishing my brother would hurry up and died because it was christmas and they wanted to go home. Of course, I told them to go home in anger. I didn't want my brother to die on Christmas, I wanted a Christmas Miracle of life on earth. Instead, God choose to take him to heaven that day and my new normal would begin. I will leave the story there today and a year later, would go back to a different church and try again.
I share this story with you because our yesterdays affect us today. We learn new normals and ways to make life better and not bitter. My own choices affected myself and my family. I can look back and see how it wasn't God who left me, but me who left God. Today, I teach on the power of positive thinking and letting God lead your life. Through it all, I've learned to trust in God.
Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Purpose this a good day. My prayers are with you, your family and friends. I know somedays can just be hard and I get that. I do care and don't just write, but pray.
