ONE MORE DAY ~
Waiting is not always easy
Christmas Eve brings thoughts of tomorrow for sure. What will I get? The Bible says that he will give us the desires of our heart ~ Psalm 37:4. Yet, on Christmas Day, we remember Jesus and what life is all about. A baby who came to take the sin away from people. A choice for each us to serve God or not. A choice in believing and living in the free will of God. It's such a great gift of life and our lives can lead others. Just like the Christmas star lead the wise men, God leads us.
Christmas Eve is the last day of shopping before the big day. Trying to find that perfect gift at the last minute. Buying it and then the person doesn't really like it. Has that ever happen to you? I have learned to give and no expectations back from others. I know I have done my best and I gave what I felt was good. It's time to enjoy time with each other and just smile.
Smiles is not always there on Christmas Eve. We do remember years past and we do miss people who are no longer here. Today, I am missing my mom and realizing how hard it was for her in life. She had so many struggles. She would talk about Christmas as kid and never felt like she fit. She lived with her oldest sister and her family. She would say that her sister's daughter got better things than here. My mom's mother died when she was five years old. She said she never knew what a mom was like. Now I get it, I'm sorry mom.
Christmas a kid for me was special one year. I remember watching my mom take two messed up trees she found on a lot, to make one good tree. It didn't really work but I'll never forget her taking a drill to make it happen. She was laughing and she made it fun. That same year, we got a knock on our door and it was two firemen. Holding a bag of groceries and two presents. One for me and one for my brother. We were so excited to get that gift, but to be honest, I really wanted the orange in that grocery bag. Ever since I've been an adult, I take toys to the box for kids. I know how important it is to get a toy on Christmas. I thank God for men and women who make lives better for people who have less.
CHRISTMAS EVE ~
A day of remembrance
Thank you God for this life you have given us. Let us remember Jesus and a time to celebrate life. Let us remember to be kind and share stories with others. In the stories, we find that life is amazing and it overcomes all the negative to shine for good. I am so grateful for amazing people in my life and time. I am glad I made it through my heart attack and I have another day to live. Praying for you, your family and friends. Purpose this a good day and give God thanks for your life.
