Barbara Walters ~ One life making a difference
I watched a TV Special on how Barbara Walters inspired each one of these woman. She as born in 1929 and in the years of voices of women was slim. She stood up for what she believed and pioneered the way. The depth of her story is inside her I'm sure, but her accomplishments shine bright. Her story encourages me to step up and become a stronger woman who leads.
ONE LIFE ~
We are never to compare our life to someone else,
but we certainly can be inspired by someone!
BY THE WORD OF GOD
2 Timothy 3:16-17 New Living Translation (NLT)
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
WHO INSPIRES YOU?
Take a few minutes to recall a time in life when someone inspired you. The hope you felt as they spoke or their action. I love how Darlene says this, "YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE". I love how I say this: "YOU CAN BECOME A BETTER PERSON OR BITTER PERSON". Each of us might have our own saying that people know us by. Choices my friends of what we do next in life.
The younger Barbara Walters had a dream and pressed toward that. She learned through days of being hard and days of being good. As I look in the picture above, I see many faces that inspire me to become a woman who accomplishes her dreams. I didn't realize Barbara was their example. The story of a woman who faced much change in a man's world. She pioneered and doors open because of her purpose in life and determination. One woman who continues to make a difference and others in this picture too. Let us not forget you who reads this. Male or female your life matters and you inspire someone too.
The Bible is another source of encouragement through scriptures. Scriptures of how men and women pressed forward through very difficult times. Some dreams came true and stories were written. It takes time to read and to learn how people changed through generations past.
A person who also inspires me, is my daughter Tracy.
Today is her birthday and I remember the day I had her. It brought so much joy to my soul when I looked at her little face. It wasn't love at first site, it was love before I knew I would have her. I prayed to God for a child, the desire was there and as she grew, my love grew stronger. Waiting for along time to hold her and talk to her. I would do my best to be a good mom and to be a good example to her. Yet, there were times when I failed God and her. There were times when Tracy said, "Speak words of life unto yourself. Write upon post it notes and say the truth to yourself". Her love means so much to me and her words.
Being a mom meant, I would be her example and do my best daily. As she grew older, she inspired me in many ways. She is Mental Health Worker for children, has a degree in marriage and family counseling and much more. She keeps studying and keeps doing her best daily to help others. I love her example not only to me, at work, at home, but also to God. As she works with hurting children, I can see how their story will become better in life by her words. I am honored to be her mom and friend. Happy Birthday Tracy, I love you!
There are other women and men who inspire me as well. I can look back and see how one life makes a difference. One story goes a long way. One decision to serve God with all your heart is important. Life continues to change us and mold us. Let it be molded in the right way. Our daily choices affects our day and tomorrow. Make positive choices.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. I am thankful for Barbara Walters and all the women in this picture. I am thankful for my own personal examples of influences. I have learned to become a better person through it all. Focusing on God's plan ~ Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, A promise and A future. I know that my life is making a difference as well. We need each other and God connects lives for purpose.
