Colossians 4:6 New International Version (NIV)
Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
ONE HOUSE ~
One house lost in the fire is too many. Lives are changed within it and you don't have a place to return too. Waking up to know you can't go to your closet and get something to wear today. The toothbrush is missing in the fire and only the close on my back is what I have. We can watch TV and hear stories after stories of people needing the everyday things of life and where to go. This hit my family when my daughter and son in law lost their house a week ago. Plans to rebuild yes but that takes time. They didn't expect to go out to buy little things for them or the boys. They just went to bed like others did and Sean looked out the window to see the fire way to close. No time to plan on what to grab, just get out.
ONE HOUSE ~ ONE FIRE
Lessons learned by hearing others to have a bag packed always. Have water available too and know where you are going in case of an emergency. Sean taught me to plan ahead and prepared in this day. I wish I had moments of getting things ready Sean said, but their lives were more important than material things. No time and safety mattered!
Psalm 141:3 New International Version (NIV)
Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.
Be careful your words and actions during a sensitive time. The fire might be over in our area, but it's still burning homes and businesses. The air may be clearer today and we might forget what yesterday was like. The fire victims can't forget, because they must start a new normal and find housing. Pray for people and if you don't know what to say, just say, "I CARE or I'm sorry you have to deal with this". People ask me how can they help my family. I only know to say, do what you feel inside. If you can give a gift card or money that is great. They need everyday clothes, shoes, socks, and let's be honest, we like to pick out our own things. Don't say, "It is just a house". No it wasn't just a house, it was their home where they went to daily.
WORDS MATTER ~
I'm praying for you
If I can do anything just let me know
How can I help?
ONE HOUSE ~ IS TOO MANY
As we sit and think about life, let us count blessings and guard our hearts from word. Let us speak positive and up lifting words today. Sharing hope when hope feels gone. Sharing life with those we care about and kindness to strangers. Life is so short and we just never know what one day will bring. I hope this day brings you joy to your soul.
Schools have been closed here for one week now. Life has changed so much and my personal self has changed. I know things I won't say again and things to say to people who loose it all. I love my family more than words can say and I am glad they are safe. Please continue to pray as they make decisions. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
