In life, there will be times when we must choose. Choose right from wrong, choose friendships that are healthy and see the one gift that God has given us. One gift of free will and the roads it can lead us down in life.
The dictionary says:
A simple definition of free will:
- : the ability to choose how to act
- : the ability to make choices that are not controlled by fate or God
Proverbs 16:9 ESV The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
John 7:17 ESV If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.
Revelation 3:20 ESV Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
FREE WILL ~ I hope as you read this, if you haven't already, I hope you find that friend in Jesus. Praying and asking largely for him to send the right people into your life. People who lift you up and encourage you in all seasons of life. If someone leaves you, it might just be meant to be that way. We need healthy friendships and healthy communication between people.
I hear words from others when people get hurt inside church or by friendships. But the truth is, it might not have been a real friendship from the beginning. As I began to pray, God started moving people around in my life. Some people moved away and I'm still friends with them, others live in the town and we never talk. Then there are those who you might not talk to often but you just know they will always be there for you. Life gets busy and once again, to have a friend, you must be a friend. I have failed in calling people too and then when I do, nothing has changed.
We are only days away from Christmas. So many busy people and no time for anything. Let us not forget to take time to thank God for all the things we do have in life. Giving him praise and counting blessings. It's not about the wrapped gift that matters, but the inside of your heart. Thank you for taking time to read this and planting hope today. My prayers continue for you, your friends and family.
